Summary

Tommy hears dead people. Okay, one dead person. His best friend, Chase. Since his death, Tommy can't stop hearing his voice. They talk every day and Tommy even sends him texts, but it always ends the same. Message failed to send. Until one day, a stranger texts back.

Getting stuck in nowhere Georgia was not on Nick's summer agenda, but a horoscope, a chance encounter, and a cute boy has things looking up. There's just one problem, the boy hates him. When a broken phone leaves him with a new number, Nick is ready to write off the entire summer as a loss. But then he receives a strange text.

When Tommy and Nick's worlds collide, the attraction is instant, but Tommy just can't let Chase go. Can Nick use his status as Tommy's anonymous stranger to break down his defenses or is Nick destined to live in a love triangle with a ghost?

Stunning

I don’t think the summary does this book justice I was expecting a silly maybe even sweet ya book but I got a masterpiece of emotion and recovery. We were given representation of the LGBTQ + community and a very real show of grief, loss and friendship.
This little book hit me hard and made a real lasting impression.
Ghosting You will leave you with tears of joy and sorrow.
I will definitely read more from this author.

Slow burn healing

A lovely story of healing and forgiving yourself. A slow burn book by all counts - the world building, back story, romance, all takes it's time, but that's in it's favour. I thought this book looked rather long but the synopsis and narrator appealed so I gave it a go and actually found it really well paced. Sure it could have been shorter but that would have detracted from the experience. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and had all the feels, definitely an emotional ride. I thought this story would have a paranormal element but actually it was very normal - so don't expect ghosts in the traditional sense. The book is written from two perspectives and narration was perfect.

Not for me

Even Joel Leslie's narration couldn't make it interesting for me and he was a little less than his stellar self. With one character living mostly in his head and the other having random conversations with his mom and friend, nothing made sense. Maybe it gets interesting later but with plenty of books in my to-read list I don't want to invest any more time and energy into this book in hopes it gets better.
