Summary

Opening the X-Files...

Meet Mulder and Scully, FBI - the agency maverick and the female agent assigned to keep him in line.

Their job is to investigate the eeriest unsolved mysteries in modern America, from pyro-psychics to death row demonics, from rampaging Sasquatches to alien invasions. These are the cases the Bureau wants handled quietly but quickly, before the public finds out what's really out there...and panics - the cases filed under "X".

Thought the characters were a little inconsistent.

The story was great, much like the X-Files we know and love but I thought the portrayal of Moulder and Scully were a but out of character in some parts.

fine.

just real low quality paperback Fiction but easy listening for an xfiles fan, even if it's not canon and the voice acting is a bit cringe.

The least good fictional X-Files book so far

The writer wasn't able to capture Mulder's and Scully's personalities quite well in this one. They are a bit annoying here, like they aren't in the series or the other books, even another one by the same author.

Love X-files

For anyone who watched the series, this audiobook was a great throwback. Better than some TV episodes.

The narrator and the characters....

Okay so like many other people have stated before me, the characters and the the interactions between them are just totally unlike the x-files characters. Scully and Mulder espcially do not act like themselves, this is a huge problem if you are expecting it as you listen. The other gripe I have is this narrator is aboslutely monotone he never changes his voice the entire time he is reading. I would have found someone else to read these books if I were a publisher. But that is just me. His reading makes it so boring to listen to and difficult to know which character is talking.

Actually really good!

After three of these books narrated by Patrick Lawlor….I’ve warmed to his voice. He is actually a really decent narrator!!
The story is good…my only issue being it gets a tad messy …but it’s a true x-file style ride!
Nice One

Meh.

The book itself is kinda average, not a bad story but the characters just don't seem like their TV counterparts in my opinion.
The narrater... He just seems overly enthusiastic and it ruins some of the tense moments as he doesn't really change thr tone of his voice that well.

Disappointing.

Sadly this does not live up to the series. Mulder and Scully are not the characters they should be. They are paired with a couple of other agents to introduce an element of drama which falls completely flat. I felt the story idea had merit but the execution was poor.
The narration was OK but lacked nuance and was a bit reading by numbers.
