About this listen
From the USA Today best-selling author of Rookie Move comes the second novel in the series that's hot enough to melt the ice.
He's a fighter in the rink, but he's about to learn that playing nice can help you score.
As team captain and enforcer, Patrick O'Doul puts the bruise in the Brooklyn Bruisers. But after years of hard hits, O'Doul is feeling the burn, both physically and mentally. He conceals his pain from his coach and trainers, but when his chronic hip injury becomes too obvious to ignore, they send him for sessions with the team's massage therapist.
After breaking up with her long-term boyfriend, Ari Bettini is in need of peace of mind. For now she's decided to focus on her work: rehabilitating the Bruisers' MVP. O'Doul is easy on the eyes, but his reaction to her touch is ice cold. Ari is determined to help O'Doul heal, but as the tension between them turns red hot, they both learn that a little TLC does the body good.

A little too long for my taste
Nice story and good narration but at some point it was dragging on too much IMO.

I'm loving this series
Yay. Loved this 2nd book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series following the lives and loves of the Brooklyn Bruisers ice hockey team. Told in dual POV we meet Patrick O'Doul, the team captain and enforcer, who has no interest in getting tied up in a relationship, he's too busy enjoying his own company and coping with all the injuries that are associated with being the enforcer. Ari Bettini is the team's massage therapist, and having just come out of an abusive relationship she is not looking for love, not at all. She's having enough trouble dealing with the fallout from her ex boyfriend who is not willing to leave her alone. Together Patrick and Ari help each other with their internal dilemmas/fears and end up spending rather a lot of time together (including super sexy time), unfortunately for Patrick, Ari is not willing to jump into another relationship, he's not going to give up easily though. He's found something he wants and he's all in. With some funny scenes, some emotional moments and a little bit of suspense I really enjoyed this sports romance.

At this point, I'm pretty much obsessed
I didn't think I'd like Patrick's story, but it was actually pretty sad. Him and Ari are so stinking cute together, there was several audible awww's.

Excellent
Very spicy scenes! Really good bad-ground story for each characters.
Think it’s the best one of the series so far 💪

Fire on Ice!!!
I will never look at massage table the same again ! Nice thriller edge to the hockey HEA genre. My favorite of the Bruisers series, and for hockey fans a fascinating look into the mind of an Enforcer.

Ok
The story was good but, unfortunately, I didn't like the narrators, particularly the female one. She was just cringe worthy especially during the sex scenes.
