About this listen
The New York Times and USA Today best-selling series
They dive so humanity survives. Now they take to the sea.
In the fourth installment of the award-winning and USA Today best-selling Hell Divers series, the Sea Wolf sets out to search for the Metal Islands. Leading the expedition is legendary Hell Diver Xavier Rodriguez. After enduring for a decade on the poisoned surface, his survival skills will be put to the test on the dangerous open seas.
But storms, sea monsters, and the cannibalistic Cazadores aren't the only threat to X and his small crew. Their mission will uncover hard truths about the history of the war that left humankind stranded in the air for centuries. And the fate of those still living on the airships might very well rest on this fragile and perilous journey to find a new home.

And R.C.Bray? Well, the man is a genius. This is probably the 15th or 16th book narrated by Bob that I am listening to and there is no way I can read the book on its own without the characters sounding exactly the way Bob Bray made them sound!
So, to explain the title of this review...
I usually listen to audible when doing my weekly commute to work that takes me 6-7 hours on a good day. So there I was, driving on the motorway (highway for you people living anywhere other than the UK), listening to Mr. Bray narrate the beautiful story of the Hell Divers. I didn't realise how much of the book I had heard when suddenly, after a particularly heart pounding fight sequence, I heard the dreaded "You have been listening to Wolves, book 4 of Hell Divers". The shock of realising that the book had ended and that I have not been paying attention the last 45 minutes or so made me jump! Thank God for light early morning traffic! So, I did what any man would do in that situation. I went to a services, went back an hour in the book and started to listen again!
All in all, its a fantastic piece of science fiction. Nicholas Smith has indeed outdone himself, especially with the twists and turns towards the end. And Bob Bray is simply the best when it comes to narrating post apocalyptic fiction with hard men and women as the main character.
Already looking forward to Book 5 and beyond!!
When I had to stop on the motorway.

Okay the story line is informative as in every book, there’s more information, alliances to come and yes in X’s case predictable but it’s a great alternate “future/post apocalyptic” concept which will have a few more volumes for those who like this series. The characters, the survival types and the world as they know it is evolving and repairing themselves. It seems the battle for survival may be out of the air and not against the elements and each other but man v machine?
Just when you thought it was over!

Excellent

I am still making my mind up as to whether it will be as good as the previous 3 books. However, R C Bray is absolutely the right narrator for this book as his voice engenders the suspense, which seems to carry through the whole book.
