About this listen
In 1994, Mike Mignola created one of the most unique and visually arresting comics series to ever see print: Hellboy. Tens of thousands have followed the exploits of the World's Greatest Paranormal Investigator in comics form and in prose. Now, fans of the comic can enjoy the world of Hellboy as seen through the eyes of some of the brightest creative lights in horror and mystery fiction.

is it worth a listen ?
well is it worth a liten ? ABSOLUTLY !!! I have loved bellboy since I first picked up a graphic novel many years ago and I have loved the movies to. I like the grim dark and the mix of humour to the stories. Seth padowitz does amazing work with the story and with success he captivates me from the start. I listened to this while painting and often I realized that I just stoped painting listening. if you do like bellboy this is a must listen. I loved it

A Mixed Bag
Worth the price tag for the stories 'Jigsaw', 'The Nuckelavee' and 'Far Flew the Boast of Him'. All three are top notch and excellent additions to the Hellboy canon, the latter two in particular I would love to see retold in comic form someday. As for the other stories, they vary in quality from forgettably dull to outright bad. Some of the content is entirely negated by events in the comics (see the now non-canon Liz Sherman origin short story here, 'Burn, Baby, Burn') and can be skipped wholesale, as it's not worth your time.
The narrator is excellent and makes the lesser stories in this compilation bearable. Every sentence is delivered perfectly, his portrayal of Hellboy is my favourite I've seen, even trumping the film version, which veers too far from the comic to my liking at times.
