About this listen

Betrayed the night before his wedding by the supposed boy of his dreams, Ethan Robinson escapes the devastating fallout by going on his honeymoon alone to the other side of the world. Hard of hearing and still struggling with the repercussions of being late-deafened, traveling by himself leaves him feeling painfully isolated with his raw, broken heart.

Clay Kelly never expected to be starting life over in his forties. He got hitched young, but now his wife has divorced him and remarried; his kids are grown, and he's left his rural Outback town. In a new career driving a tour bus on Australia's East Coast, Clay reckons he's happy enough. He enjoys his cricket, a few beers, and a quiet life. If he's a bit lonely, it's not the end of the world.

Clay befriends Ethan, hoping he can cheer up the sad-eyed young man, and a crush on an unattainable straight guy is exactly the safe distraction Ethan needs. Yet as the days pass and their connection grows, long-repressed desires surface in Clay, and they are shocked to discover romance sparking. Clay is the sexy, rugged man of Ethan's dreams, and as the clock counts down on their time together, neither wants this honeymoon to end.

Contains mature themes.

No regrets purchasing this one - a top tier narrator in Joel Leslie, characters that you are still thinking about long after the last chapter, and a heartwarming, hot and beautiful romance. Also liked that there was a good balance between tension and lightness, not too angsty and over dramatic. Highly recommended!

Heartwarming and life affirming

I don’t hate this story at all.

I also love the whole deaf concept, obviously that’s tragic and must be awful but not enough books have deaf characters let alone deaf Main characters so I was happy with that.

I sorta wished for something more from there first meeting, not sure what was missing something just was there, also I absolutely hate that regardless of their relationship status clay refers to Ethan as ‘mate’ and that could just be Aussie terms I don’t know.

I could be bias since I’m British and mate is a very macho manly thing to say, regardless wasn’t fond of that.

As well as this is more of a personal thing rather than the books fault, I wished there was like a fight that pushed Ethan to leave Australia early and then clay go to the states to bring Ethan back, and then more drama that would’ve been so satisfying is if clay had turned up when Ethan confronted Michael and Todd.

Regardless it was a pleasant story and I’m
Happy Ethan finally got to marry the man of his dreams.

Eh-…well Uhm…🤔

Though the story is nothing groundbreakingly unique, it was so much fun going through the whirlwind romance with these lovable characters. Though the connection was fast between the leads it never felt forced or rushed which I've found with other similar plots.
Joel Leslie was an absolute delight to listen to (as always) and I was very impressed with the Aussie accent it added so much fun to the experience especially with all the slang words used by Clay within the story!

I can say with certainty I am a certified Michael and Todd hater. The audacity of the characters was fun and infuriating to experience alongside Ethan.

9/10 definitely recommend 🌟

Heartwarming and totally worth the listen!

This is one of my favourite stories from Keira. You don't always hear about disabilities and MM romance, but this was such a heart warming story - I didn't want it to end. Listened to it several times now as a relaxing listen to cheer me up.

A happy story for the heart

I think this story is probably one of the most touching stories I have ever listened to. A young man who is hearing impaired and the traumatic moment in his life, a honeymoon on his own in Australia and a HEA at end of course.

lovely story of unexpected love

This was a lovely touching story of heartache a few tear jerking moments. lovely to see how the author wrote about coming out later in life it was done in a tasteful way. it was quite educational regarding the hard of hearing and how Ethan cope with his hearing loss later in life.

A moving story with a happy ending and some erotic moments in between with characters that were brought to life by the narration

What a wonderful story

If you’re actually Australian the mispronunciation of the names of literally every single place that isn’t a capital city will do you head in. But otherwise, a fun story.

Aussie place name trigger warning

Another well narrated book for Joel Leslie, he can do no wrong lol.

I really enjoyed this story, as it was believable and the characters earned your loyalty very quickly into the story.

The fact that we got to see what happened at the beginning and how the main character does what he does to move on.

Well paced, some laughs and 9 1/2 hrs of pure bliss.

Wow
