About this listen
AN INSTANT #1 NEW YORK TIMES AND #1 USA TODAY BESTSELLER
In the follow-up to It Happened One Summer, Tessa Bailey delivers another deliciously fun rom-com about a former player who accidentally falls for his best friend while trying to help her land a different man…
King crab fisherman Fox Thornton has a reputation as a sexy, carefree flirt. Everyone knows he’s a guaranteed good time—in bed and out—and that’s exactly how he prefers it. Until he meets Hannah Bellinger. She’s immune to his charm and looks, but she seems to enjoy his… personality? And wants to be friends? Bizarre. But he likes her too much to risk a fling, so platonic pals it is.
Now, Hannah's in town for work, crashing in Fox’s spare bedroom. She knows he’s a notorious ladies’ man, but they’re definitely just friends. In fact, she's nursing a hopeless crush on a colleague and Fox is just the person to help with her lackluster love life. Armed with a few tips from Westport’s resident Casanova, Hannah sets out to catch her coworker’s eye… yet the more time she spends with Fox, the more she wants him instead. As the line between friendship and flirtation begins to blur, Hannah can't deny she loves everything about Fox, but she refuses to be another notch on his bedpost.
Living with his best friend should have been easy. Except now she’s walking around in a towel, sleeping right across the hall, and Fox is fantasizing about waking up next to her for the rest of his life and… and… man overboard! He’s fallen for her, hook, line, and sinker. Helping her flirt with another guy is pure torture, but maybe if Fox can tackle his inner demons and show Hannah he’s all in, she'll choose him instead?

UNREAL UNREAL UNREAL
This was one of the best books I have listened to and I proper fell in love with the characters - a bit raunchy which I was not expecting but would love to see this be turned into a movie!

So much better than the first book!
Loved the narrator and her style. It made me really connect with the characters which didn’t happen with the first book (a different narrator). I enjoyed this story more as well. Love Fox’s character.

Not as good as the first book
I loved the first book and was really looking forward to this one. it starts off good but by the end I found myself skipping through alot of it. the constant internal dialogue fox keeps having with himself gets repetitive in the end. It just seems to drag on unnecessarily with him repeating the same things over and over.

long winded
while I enjoyed the book, I didn't love it
the very long drawn out friend/lovers story and his very overly dramatic reason for his flaws irritated me but the writing style was good

*The Title is Apt*
This is book two of two in the - ‘It Happened One Summer’ series. Brendan is the Captain Fisherman & Fox is his second in command and they live in the town where Piper and Hannah’s late father grew up in.
In book one we see what happens when Brendan and Piper meet.
Towards the end of book one Hannah, Piper’s younger meets Fox with a reputation of one night stands. She see’s through his act and is immune to his charms, but they connect through their love of music. As she lives in a different town After 7 months of texting back and forth as friends and using songs to describe their days or moods, her work takes her to his town.
Fox has never had a female friend. As Hannah will be in town coincidentally Brendan’s parents are also in town so it means she will be staying in Fox’s spare room.
What happens when the town bad boy who only ever has one night stands has Hannah staying with him. Everyone sees him as a good time guy with no substance, but how will Hannah affect him. His father was a good time guy and because he looks like his father as much as his mother a travelling hilarious bingo caller loves him she flinches every time she sees him why? Fox lives up to his reputation but is there more to it?
For the first time in his life he is out of his depth with how Hannah makes him feel and in his mind he must keep away from her as she is too good for him and he does not want her tarred with the insults that fly at him.
He has not bargained on her strength and how he would feel with her sharing the same space as him, do they both feel the same? Or will they remain as just good friends?…
