About this listen
A handbook to console, nourish and gently lead us on the path to emotional balance.
There is no simple set of instructions that can guarantee sanity, but if you want to overcome emotional difficulties and become happier, psychotherapist Philippa Perry, author of The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read, argues that there are four cornerstones to sanity you can influence to bring about change.
By developing your self observation skills, examining how you relate to others, breaking out of your comfort zone and exploring new ways of defining yourself, Philippa demonstrates that it is possible to become a little less tortured and a little more fulfilled. How to Stay Sane is at once a brilliant explanation of our minds and a profoundly useful guide to facing up to the many challenges life throws our way.

Would you listen to How to Stay Sane again? Why?
I would love to but only if there is another narrator. What was one of the most memorable moments of How to Stay Sane?
the very useful respiration exercises. How could the performance have been better?
instead of the high pitched, almost automatic narrator's voice I would have preferred a relaxed voice connected with the mood and meaning of the book. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
yes.Any additional comments?
i loved the book but as I said , the voice of the narrator made it difficult to go through.lovely book-high pitched voice made it difficult

I also noticed the use of jargon at many points in the book that added nothing to the listener's understanding, nor was the jargon really explained. The book included discussion about constructing a geneogram, which is typically used by therapists to gain an understanding of the client's family and background. As a therapist and psychologist, I am concerned that the author suggests people could do this for themselves, whether they understand what they are doing or not. The author does not advise of the potential implications, nor fully how to undertake such a task. There are many other things I could say, so perhaps the most useful is that, in my view, there is little to be gained from spending your time on this book.
Poor narration and poor content
