Summary

A brilliantly funny, romantic and effervescent listen, If We're Not Married by Thirty is the irresistible new novel from the best-selling author of The Bucket List to Mend a Broken Heart and It Started with a Tweet.

Lydia's not exactly Living Her Best Life. She never imagined she'd be here at 30 - newly single, a job that's going nowhere and her friends all winning at life when she's still barely taking part.

So she jumps at the chance of a free holiday and jets off to sunny Spain. Then, out of the blue, she bumps into her childhood friend, the handsome and charming Danny Whittaker. She's always had a crush on him, and they soon enter into a passionate holiday romance.

But this relationship could be more than just a fling. Years ago they made a pact that if they were still single when they turned 30 they would get married. But no one really follows through on these pacts...right? Could Lydia's backup man really be her happy ever after?

It’s ok

This is probably my least favourite of all the Anna Bell books I’ve listened to. It’s ok, an enjoyable listen I guess but it took my longer to listen to than other books as I just didn’t get hooked.
The narrator is not great either, her voice didn’t gel with what I imaged the main character to be like, she sounded much older.

Loved the story but the narrator is irritating!

The narrator is really annoying, especially for Danny's voice, but stick with it as it's a lovely story. I'll definitely be buying more from Anna Bell!

Ok read

Lighthearted but the main character was annoying and made even more so by the narrator, who was irritating to listen to and awful at accents. Also made several mistakes whilst reading the book which added to the aggravation. Nonetheless an easy listen for a holiday read.

Awful Narration

The narration is so bad it spoiled the book for me. Strange voice and accents. The voice didnt suit the character at all!
The plot line was great though

shame about the narrator

I love Anna Bell novels, and I enjoyed the storyline just as much on this one. however, it was really spoiled by the narrator. annoying voices per character and the intonation/inflection was awful. so much so that I won't be listening to any other audio books narrated by her.
I'd recommend you read this book though!

From one Pompey girl to another! really enjoyed!

Great chicklit. funny. relatable. endearing. And loved hearing chat about our seaside town of Portsmouth.
Not an ending that I expected. (so that was good). Great narration. Will look out for author Anna Bell for future listens!
