Summary
What happens when you meet the right person, at the right time, in the wrong place?
Twenty-two-year-old Leana Mackenzie is looking for adventure. Full of excitement, she leaves her home in a remote Scottish village and heads for the bright city lights.
In Edinburgh, she meets Alasdair - a cute and charming singer/songwriter. As their relationship develops everything feels perfect.
But as the sparkle of her new life begins to fade, Leana finds herself longing for her cosy home on the Isle of Skye, and the close-knit family she left behind.
When Alasdair is offered the career opportunity of a lifetime, Leana is left even more confused. Now, she must choose between a high-flying life as the girlfriend of a celebrity - or returning home to her safe, predictable life.
Home is where the heart is...but what happens when the heart is pulled in two different directions?

Easy, cosy reading
Story is wholesome & predictable but it is enjoyable and I prefer novels of this nature. Kyle got on my nerves I'm afraid, he's an irritating character who if I knew in real life I'd avoid, he is bordering on stalker status! Narration is lovely and melodic

Wonderful story looking forward to the next in the series.
It was a delightful story about true love and it’s way of causing chaos to the young couples
I look forward now to reading the next in line, to see what happens to alistair and Isla

Pleasant way to spend some time
I loved the characters in this book, they are written so well and I was very invested in finding out what happened to them. I would be keen to read more about them.
A nice easy listen, I will definitely listen to more stories by this author.

Lovely, lovely, lovely
I loved this book. Nothing confronting or challenging, just believable, warm characters, intriguing life situations and the beauty of Edinburgh and the Highlands. Also beautifully narrated. What not to love? I am already into the second in the series and enjoying it even more than the first. I can’t wait for book three!

a beautifully gentle read
With all the World's problems at the moment, this is a book that will whisk you off to shear escapism. A delightfully happy read.

The audible equivalent of watching paint dry!
I have tried valiantly to enjoy this book. But I concede defeat with 3 hours left to go. It was just beyond me and when I found myself looking at my phone and trying to summon up the determination to listen to more I new it was time to stop. I understand that to come home to the Loch one must have moved away but did it have to be for 17? chapters of Edinburgh pub crawl with a story line that could have filled half a chapter? Obviously there are writers who can take a chapter to tell you about one hour but keep you riveted. Sadly I did not find this to be one of them. And do young people seriously consume this much beer? and how do they finance it? I must be getting old. I really wanted to like this as the escapism of a story based near a scottish loch really appealed. But the characters are flat and uninspiring or over-played like Isla whose incomprehensible bad temper with everyone made me think she really needed some counselling help. Maybe she does and that is the next book. I cannot really put my finger on what is missing in the writing. It is just boring. Obviously others have enjoyed it so maybe its just me. I loved the narrators accent but oddly I think her soft voice added to the blandness of it all. Anyway, not for me.
