Summary
Second chances always come with a price.
Colonel Liam Wessex is happy to see Jamie Callahan and Kyle Brannigan finally married, but it leaves him wishing his own life wasn’t such a mess. With his classified identity revealed to the British public, Liam struggles with the transition into civilian life. When MI6 Agent Oliver Archer stumbles back into his world, Liam has a second chance to make things right between them, if only the prickly agent would let him close again.
Oliver thought he’d done enough to cut Liam out of his life for good after a disastrous night together during their youth. But when terrorists target London and Liam is called back to active duty, they’re forced to work together for the good of queen and country. Liam may not be the spoiled prince Oliver once knew, but that doesn’t make up for the heartache he caused.
Amidst royal engagements and clandestine missions, Liam and Oliver find themselves facing a threat that could tear them apart all over again.

Amazing
Another brilliant story by Hailey Turner. Packed with action and romance. Greg Boudreau did a super job with the narration. This was/is an amazing series that everyone that love a bit of sci-fi/fantasy should have in their library.
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Sad to see the end
This entire series is absolutely fantastic and the final installment of In the Solace fits perfectly! The superpowers and the action revolving around them really provide a rich world that these characters fit perfectly into. I loved getting to see Jamie and Kyle’s HEA and also getting to see Liam and Oliver together.
Greg Boudreaux did an outstanding job bringing these couples and their fantastic world to life. I’m so sad to see the end of this series and will be revisiting this world often.

Satisfying
This has been an awesome series following Kyle and Jamie through the battles they’ve faces! Liam, an important character, finally gets his story and eventually a HEA. I liked Oliver for Liam, not making forgiveness too easy. It was interesting to see how the Royal family might evolve, tradition being key!
Greg Boudreaux as always does a fantastic job. His accents pretty good across the board. Makes a damn good book Excellent.
Highly Recommended.

Great Plot
I am happy to see this book, but goodness! Heart stopping at times, deeply engaging, this book kept me on the edge of my seat and I honestly couldn't shut it off. Turner has a true knack for writing books that stay with you long after they are finished. Boudreaux's narration is stellar and truly chilling at times. He has a masterful voice that will give you chills of excitement and/or terror.

Endings and beginnings
A wonderful wedding and hot, hot honeymoon for Jamie and Kyle. Their vows were just lovely. Now, finally Liam gets the chance to make up for being so cruel to Oliver all those years ago. This part is a friends/lovers to enemies to lovers tale that was worth the wait. There is also as one would expect plenty of action with twists and turns galore. You won't thank us for giving any spoilers so just know that if you have invested your time into this series, you won't be disappointed in this entry. There is also an interesting take on warriors coping with their impending, unwilling retirement from the fight which in these days of the Prince Harry chronicles made me appreciate just how hard it must have been for him to leave the battlefield years ago when he was forced to and now what it must feel like as he leaves his royal duties behind to give up his military duties as well. I would listen to Greg Boudreaux read literally anything. He is superb here as always. The voices are all so distinct you forget it isn't one person performing them all. The emotions are all right there so you get all the feels, but the action is also expertly handled and you get the feel for how strong these guys are in their military roles.

So great
Liam finally got his happy ever after, although I will admit I was worried. Really worried. This series is so full of excitement and terror and romance and heat. It’s got everything that anyone could ask for and Greg Boudreaux narrating? You can’t go wrong!

A Happy Ending Fit For a Prince
In the Solace is the sixth and final book in the Metahuman Files series, a sci-fi, gay romance series that blends action, romance, suspense, and science fiction into an incredible story within an intricate world. This book CANNOT standalone, and the first five Metahuman Files books MUST be read first. I would also suggest reading the three (free!) short stories and three novellas for more context. Every book and story within this universe is fantastic.
The book felt like a long epilogue, which makes sense since the main arc of the series was concluded in book five, In the Requiem. In the Solace gives us Jamie and Kyle’s wedding day, and a glimpse of their lives after retiring from active duty. It then goes to focus on Liam and reunite him with his love interest, Oliver. Liam and Oliver’s story had me on the edge of my seat with all the ups and downs, twists and turns, that they had to endure before they finally got their happy ever after. Hailey Turner did a great job with developing her characters and creating such an interesting and absorbing plot. I loved the second-chance love and frenemies-to-lovers tropes that were prominent throughout the story. This book is a must-read for anyone who is a fan of the pervious five Metahuman Files books.
Greg Boudreaux narrated this audiobook and did a fantastic job. I enjoyed his voice and was impressed with the range of voices and accents he can do. Each character sounded distinct and it was quite easy for me to follow along in the story. In the Solace has a lot of action scenes and Greg knows exactly how to perform them—he does a great job and I was on the edge of my seat, hardly breathing during some moments. The audiobook production was well done and there were no errors.
I highly recommend this series. I fell in love with all the characters from book one and binged all the books as fast as I could. If you love action and romance with a really sophisticated and well-crafted world building, then this is the series for you.

Amazing Metahuman Files Finale!
I am so glad Liam got his own story in this Metahuman Files Finale, he has made a couple of appearances in previous books, but we were given a hint of something between himself and MI6 agent Oliver Archer in the last book, In The Requiem.
The book starts off with the eagerly awaited wedding between Jamie and Kyle with Liam, Colonel Wessex and Grandson to the Queen of England is their best man, the action then transfers over to London where splice terrorist attacks begin around the capital.
You definitely have to read/listen to all these book in order to gain a full understanding and enjoyment of this book.
Greg Boudreaux is one of the most talented narrators I have come across, his narration of this book confirmed it to me. There are many different characters that need distinctive voices, male female, Americans and British. His British accents were excellent, and using different dialects for different characters at times, this from an American narrator, he hit the nail on the head each time! Well done! 👏👏👏

A must have!
Ms Turner created a world full of action, superpowers and MM romance, and this book 6 Is not exception. We finally got the so-much expected and well deserved HEA between Jamie and Kyle with heartwarming, sweet vows included. Of course the book is also about Liam and Oliver and how they needed to overcome insecurities, some angst, danger and themselves to be together. I strongly recommend to read this book as part of the series to fully understand all the references, backstory, twists and turns of the plot. A must have for anyone as fan of the series as me, specially while narrated by Mr Boudreaux and his talented voice acting and charism. I loved his performance so perfect for hearing this book so much times.

Bittersweet ending
I am deeply saddened to know this is the end.
This has been an amazing sci-fi adventure full of action, danger and plenty of steamy romance.
This felt like an epilogue and everyone got their HEA.
Greg Boudreaux did an amazing job bringing this amazing world to life.
