Summary

What is the use of knowing the future when destiny won’t let you use that knowledge?

Gifted with knowledge of the future, Li Wei’s path should be an easy one, right?

But when the future doesn’t behave as it’s supposed to, plans are derailed and things change.

Faced with a challenge against the Li clan, Wei must alter his plans and find a way to solve the situation at hand, but a new path taken is a path not yet explored.

Thrown into a bad situation, Wei must use his knowledge of the future and his powers to fight an overwhelmingly powerful enemy.

Will he succeed? Or give up for an easy way out?

Alchemy, secret realms, more Overpowered Array Shenanigans, and slapping young masters right and left. And of course, one awesome system to rule them all.

Shlock

Don't be taken in by the high starred reviews as I was - and worse bought the first two books on the back of it - This is tripe.

Besides the fact that the first time the protagonist is in a social setting and not being played up as a victim he comes off as a conceited ass - with invulnerability cheat codes (as the book alludes to in a rare moment of fourth wall breaking insight) the power progression (even for a Wuxia) leaves no shark un-jumped!
Seriously it is so extreme that it devalues what is usually the main draw of a cultivation story.

But the worst part, the very worst, is the writing - seriously it made me laugh out loud.
From over-used stock phrases "You are courting your death", through the cheesiest imaginable cod Chinese dialogue, to clumsy grammar, to entire sections repeated due to poor editing, not to mention a hilariously bad "you killed him you bastards" scene that repeats from two perspectives and then is immediately is echoed virtually verbatim by another character.
This book made me feel bad for the narrator.
