About this listen

At a shadowy company (Karoli Robotics Corporation) owned by a Sillicon Valley billionaire, a scientist named Jim creates an AI that can fool the Turing test at the same time as his colleague, Daniel, successfully synthesizes DNA in a test tube. Daniel's attempts to reanimate dead chimps using his discovery have been unsuccessful, but when his friend Laura Bocelli is killed by being trapped inside a lab freezer, Daniel is presented with the perfect specimen. However, Laura is irreparably brain dead.

Daniel and Jim join forces to reanimate Laura using the DNA technology as well as the AI, creating a brilliant but psychopathic new Laura.

A year later a young journalist starts digging into the new CEO of Karoli Robotics Corporation, Laura Bocelli, and finds more than she bargained for. Laura will do anything to protect her secret and her plan to engineer a race of AI Cyborgs made in her image.

Featuring: Sara Alexander, John Ammirati, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Edward Bluemel, Erin Doherty, Adam Fitzgerald, Mark Holden, Ryan Forde Iosco, Sandra-mae Luykx, Stuart Milligan, Elizabeth Moynihan, Christopher Ragland, Anna Rust, Derek Siow, Robert G Slade and Wyatt Warner.

Thoroughly brilliant

For such a short story… it’s full of morality issues and mystery! Considering it is only speech through the characters I enjoyed it’s take on story telling!

Great story but spoiled by the description

The story is great, but the description spoils the ending. One of the main villains , whom you only find out about in the last chapter , is casually spoiled by the book description. Audible if you are reading this , please don’t spoil the book!

Other than that the actors are great as well - great audio drama

Great Performance, Good Story, Odd Editing

Excellent performance from all the narrators, but unfortunately let down by some odd and clunky editing, especially in later chapters.

Story itself was a interesting concept written very well, unfortunately seemed a little short and the ending was somewhat abrupt.

Pretty good

Excellent performance, good soundtrack. The story, although entertaining, is rather predictable. Overall I enjoyed it.

Great story and Characters

Really enjoyed this with its characters and the different narrators. Felt the end could have been developed further.

Good story ruined by constant credits

The story was just getting started, then it ended. Why on Earth did they feel the need to break it up with constant credits and advertising, extremly frustrating. the bad syth soundtrack was rubbish. the story would have been great if it didnt end when it started and was simply narrated.

Compelling listening but predictable

This story is well produced and compelling enough that I was keen to listen to the end, however the plot is not particularly sophisticated and I guessed the villain very early. An entertaining listen that doesn't require a lot of mental application to be enjoyable. Reminded me a lot of a dr. who script.
