Summary

He was the man I was warned to stay away from.

With green eyes and an easy smile, Frank McCabe stole me away from the nightmares that awaited me at home.

But the son of the Irish Mob would never be mine. I belonged to the Italians. And the moment my mother sold me to the head of the Italian Mafia, I became the one the people of Boston were warned about.

The only person more feared than me in our city is the Irish Ghost.

When I finally flee my marital prison with my sons and my sister in tow, I unwittingly run straight into the ghost of the Irishman who died in a fiery explosion years ago.

We’re playing a game, only I’m not sure if it’s one of cat and mouse, or if he’s just after my heart.

The weapons he uses are his fists, when he teaches my sons to box, his hands, when he holds me as we dance, and the small town he now calls home.

Some call him Frank, others Ghost, but to me he’s always just been Irish.

Authors Note: Irish is a small town romantic suspense stand alone that features fan favorite Frank McCabe from Whiskey Lies and the Boston Billionaire Series.

The book is pretty cool but my my, Joe and Maxine are fantastic. Together they make a story alive so well. Joe is by far my favorite male narrator.

Phenomenal performances.

Joe and Maxine are an absolute dream team when they work together. This is a fabulous book, brought to life by the narration.

Joe and Maxine could narrate anything and I'd listen to it.

This is a slow burn, mafia, childhood friends to lovers romance, but let me tell you, when the spice hits, it DOES NOT STOP.

I did not want to stop listening to this audiobook, and was disappointed when it ended!

Please do read your triggers on Brittanee's website.

Frank & Ellie ❤️❤️

I read this when it first relased and as I was reading it in I har certain voices in my head for the characters and then the cast was announced and it was the voices I heard.

Ellie is a badass FMC so who better to play her than Maxine Mitchell who is exactly that. She played Ellie so perfectly portraying her anger and her protectiveness as a mother! She also made me cry when Ellie was vulnerable and hurt. Just pure perfection!!!! Also Maxine accent as Ruth was 👏

Joe Arden as Frank was everything I needed and with a Boston accent 😏 his voices for Lo & Leo were so adorable and the scene with them and Frank had me crying it was so beautiful.

I love Ellie & Frank together so much and the love they have for each other was everything and so beautiful.

Men written by Brittanee Nicole are pure perfection and one of my favourites.

Prepare to be Amazed! Fantastic Story & Listen🎧

Brittanée Nicole has become one of my favorite authors and she never ceases to amaze me with the stories she creates, whether it is dark or light, a romantic comedy or a romantic suspense, and she masters them all. I loved the originality of this book, “Irish” is definitely not an ordinary dark mafia romance, it is so much more. Frank McCabe was born into the Irish Mob, but as a young boy he befriended a neighborhood girl, Elena aka Ellie, whose family had connections with the Italian Mafia, that did not stop them from becoming good friends and as they got older their feelings morphed in to more. But life ripped them away from each other, or rather their families, who had other plans for them. Frank was heading on the wrong track and needed to be redirected, so he enlisted to serve the country. Ellie’s mother sold her daughter out, arranged her marriage to a brutal mob boss, but when circumstances change, she winds up marrying Lorenzo, who winds up as the next boss. She had no choice, but thought she would fare well with him, as opposed to the original arrangement. How wrong she was, he was abusive, and he forced her to do his dirty work, doing hits for him, and she became the notorious Bella Morte, a serial killer who has eluded authorities. Her kills were evil men in the mafia, but her last one was a person she knew, or thought she did. When Frank retires from the service, the feds want to recruit him for an assignment, or does he go work for his brother, who is the head of the Irish Mob. The decision was made for him and then life brings him full circle, and Ellie back to him, but nothing is exactly as it seems. Ellie escaped her brutal husband with her two sons and her sister, and goes to a cottage in Maine, the same place where Frank was. Coincidence? Or Not? I loved the depth and layers of this story and the complexity of the characters. The writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. The story has plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. There were some heartwarming scenes with her children, and her youngest, Leo, was a real scene stealer. And that twist, that ending, never saw that coming. Brittanée Nicole, thank you for another amazing story and a wild and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden’s amazing duet performance elevates this already fantastic story to another level. They understood the characters they were portraying, giving each a voice that was fitting. I loved how they took their roles and ran with them, owning them completely, sounding believable and just as I imagined the characters would sound, accents and all. They set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Part of a series?

I’d have enjoyed it a lot more had I known it was part of a series and I’d read the ones before. But i still enjoyed it.

Simply sublime!

Such a good story, with the right balance of charachter development and action. Britanee Nicole, as always, brings all the feels and I have finished this audiobook a hot mess, sobbing at the HEA. But holy moly, the narration! Quite literally one of the best audiobooks I've listened too. You think you know what you're getting with the combined talents of Joe Arden and Maxine Mitchell, but here they are simply outstanding, bringing these charachters to life in such an exquisite way that you can't help but become absorbed and invested in their journey. The duet narration and production are sublime, so slick and expertly done. I am in awe.
