About this listen

TRIPP

The worst part of being in love with my straight best friend is the fact he’s too oblivious to see it.

Years of pining have left me exhausted, and I need a break from Dex. I need space to get over my feelings. But when his relationship falls apart and he turns to me for comfort, I cave immediately.

If there’s one thing I hate more than being hurt, it’s seeing Dex struggle. I can’t leave him in a time of need, even if my friends say it’s my biggest downfall.

They say Dexter Mitchale is my weakness, but if that’s true, I don’t want to be strong.

DEX

I’ve always been the dumb one. It’s what I’m known for, and usually I don’t let it get to me.

I have hockey, and I have my best friend, Tripp. What more do I need? To settle down? No thank you. Marriage? Hard pass. According to ex-girlfriends, that makes me “irresponsible”.

But the solution I come up with to get over my fear of commitment might be my dumbest idea yet. Not only does it have team management breathing down my neck, but it puts a strain on my friendship with Tripp.

This PR nightmare could lose me the only person I’ve ever loved. Losing girlfriends is nothing. Losing Tripp? It’s not an option.

I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him.

Delectable

I really didn’t mind the slow burn on this deliciously farcical and funny story which had me laughing out loud lots. Loved the characters. Enjoyed the laughs. Loved the story. The spice was delicious and once it arrived it kept up a great pace.

Loved It

Tripp and Dex have been friends forever and when Dex breaks up with his gf and admits to Tripp he’s afraid of commitment he comes up with an idea. He says he and Tripp should get married and if they don’t submit the forms the marriage isn’t binding , oh Dex I know they said he doesn’t use his brain but this time he really didn’t 😆 You can tell from the start they both loved each other and it took the marriage and all the bad press and pressure from their management and fans alike to make Dex admit it. I enjoyed this book better than book 1 and I’m looking forward to listening to the rest .

Loveable characters

I loved these two. Dex being the loveable guy and Tripp being so head over heels was adorable. I disliked the actions of the queer collective and how they reacted to Dex, but I got where they were coming from. They overcame some adversity to find love!! Great book and narrators

I wasn't buying it.

Nothing special. I was not sold on the straight man suddenly falling for a gay friend. The rest was the same as every other mediocre story I have read before. Both narrators did a good job.
