A lot of real-life examples
The negative voice is one of the reasons I stopped listening. I wouldn't even be happy to recommend this book to someone with ADHD just because of the tone. I do think it's informative but sometimes it includes too many real-life examples and the structure is pretty unclear. In many parts it takes too long for the author to get to the point.

If you have adhd the voice is patronising
Read very patronisingly, it has a negative feel to it regardless of the fairly good content

Biased Narrator
I have ADHD and this book was suggested to my wife. It have a very true and helpful view point but the tone of the narrator is SO negative about ADHD which is a shame because my wife and I love ADHD!

A great introduction to ADHD
I would suggest starting with this book on the adventure of understanding ADHD for both partners in an affected relationship.
A solid grounding from which you can then go on to read the more scientific texts.
