Summary
Till Death Do Us Part
Enjoying a rare break in his remote lochside cabin, DCI Bone suddenly finds himself cut off when the mother of all snowstorms hits the Campsie Fells. Intrigued by the flickering lights from one of the loch’s uninhabited islands, Bone commandeers a local boat and heads out across stormy waters to investigate.
There, amongst the island’s ancient Celtic gravestones, Bone makes a grisly, surreal discovery: a mutilated bride and groom, bound together in frozen union.
Unable to contact his team at Kilwinnoch Police Station and ill-prepared for the weather, Bone faces one of the most gruelling cases of his career, as he battles fierce elemental forces to catch an ingenious killer with a heart far colder than a Scottish winter.
Set among the dramatic hills and glens of Scotland's Campsie Fells, Isle of the Dead is the fifth book in the best-selling edge-of-your-seat Scottish crime series that will keep you guessing right up to the nail-biting, heart-stopping climax.
Perfect for fans of Ian Rankin, J.D. Kirk, Val McDermid and Stuart MacBride.

Addictive and well narrated
Whenever there is a new TG Reid audio book, I just have to stop listening to everything else and put this right to the front.
Really getting into the scottishness of this series and this one had such great scenery, I could just see it with the narration. The team are growing and getting along so well. Just an overall really great police procedural.
I was given a free copy by the author but the review is entirely my own.

Outstanding Scottish Crime
DCI Bone and his team are on another case, and the twists and turns will try them to the limit. This isn’t quite tartan noir, isn’t quite police procedural. It’s a delicious mix of both, with brilliant banter and the most realistic characters in a long time. T G Reid has the gently mocking, always witty banter of the West of Scotland off to a T. His characters are superb, the team old friends now by book 5, his incidental characters writ large. To top it all off the narration is excellent, each characters voice distinct and realistic, adding so much to that ‘meeting old friends’ feeling. Loved it, I’m off for book 6.

Absolutely brilliant!
Absolutely brilliant! I am always so eager to listen to the next instalment of Duncan Bone and his team. TG Reid has captured the heart of not only the Scottish scenery, but also the camaraderie between Bone and those that love him and work with him.

A great listen that will keep your attention
Crime lovers should not hesitate to pick up this competent, well-written police procedurat with an atmospheric setting. The author pulls you straight in, ably assisted by the marvellous narrator Steve Worsley, and the novel premise and fair balance of plot development, tension and humour makes for an entertaining ride.
It is inevitable that comparisons are drawn with Stuart MacBride, not just because of the narrator but alsp the setting and dialogue. It is hardly an insult to either author -but perhaps only with deeper characterisations would the differentiations be clearer. Certainly the only slight criticism of this thoroughly enjoyable story is the lightness of touch. This is not the dark misery and unrelenting horror on the scale of say, Jo Nesbo's Harry Hole. Perhaps as a result, I did not feel overly invested in, or fearful for the main protagonists. In this respect those expecting the promised hyperbolic ' edge-of-the-seat' and 'heart-stopping climax' as promised in the blurbs might feel a wee bit short-changed. But this is still a great read nonetheless and more than worthy of your Audible credit,
I look forward to following more of TG Reid's DCI Bone adventures in the future, with pleasure.
I was given this audiobook as part of my audible listening group. While this was a delightful gift, it does not affect my honest review.

Engaging
DCI Bone takes a break from work and goes to his lochside cabin, while there bad weather hits and it hits hard. While looking out the window to check the storm he sees twinkling lights on in
uninhabited island.
DCI Bone cannot leave this alone he tries to connect to his station but with the storm no telephone signal and no internet so he commandeers a boat and takes a trip to the island, although not too far out a watery grave is not inviting. When he gets there it's beyond belief a bride and groom, unfortunately, the groom is dead but the bride won't be far behind unless something is done quickly, which Bone sees to it pronto, because what is going on cannot be legal. During the investigation, Bone finds a lot is going on and not good.
Bone comes over as a gruff character, but can't let things be, must find out the truth.
The story is well narrated by Steve Worsley he does a great job and as for T G Reid, he can really spin a tale.
I have read and listened to a few from this author and always the most enjoyable and engaging.
I was given a free audio version this time which was greatly received. A great series
