Lesson: low-carb is NOT the same a ketogenic
Since first trying Atkins about 20 years ago, I've spent years eating low-carb on and off. It was clearly beneficial to me and I managed to lose weight whenever I ate that way. However, I could never understand why my weight loss always stalled well above my idea weight or why I still wanted to eat huge meals despite avoiding carbs with ease.
Somehow, it had not registered with me that eating a lot of protein would also drive my insulin levels up and while I thought I had been eating a ketogenic diet, I hadn't. Fortunately, this turns out to be a common problem people face when trying to achieve ketosis and as soon as I took Jimmy's advice to restrict my protein intake to less than 100 g per day (That's my limit. It might not be yours) I knew something had changed.
For one thing I got the awful, metallic taste of ketones in my mouth and my body began to itch. Now, these aren't great symptoms to have but they are good news for someone who's trying to get into ketosis because they're a sure sign that you're doing it right. These signs also pass in a few weeks as the body gets used to using the ketones it produces from burning fat. Added to this, I no longer have any urge to snack or fill up on nuts or cheese because I eat a predominance of fat at my one meal per day and this is absolutely plenty to keep me sated for a day.
I wish I'd got this book when I first heard of it. It's good, useful advice from one who's walked the walked and it's backed by the clinical evidence. I cannot recommend Keto Clarity too highly.

Life changing!
This book is well written and narrated and gives invaluable insight into the ketogenic way of life. I can not recommend this book enough, it is a must read.

Would you consider the audio edition of Keto Clarity to be better than the print version?

Yeah....
Great for a keto beginner, but I've done a lot of research and have been in ketosis for months now. didn't shed any new light on it but really good to remind me why i do this and keep me motivated.
