About this listen

Nothing says Happy Birthday like summoning the spirits of your dead relatives. Alex is a bruja, the most powerful witch in a generation and she hates magic. At her Deathday celebration, Alex performs a spell to rid herself of her power. But it backfires. Her whole family vanishes into thin air, leaving her alone with Nova, a brujo boy she can't trust. A boy whose intentions are as dark as the strange marks on his skin. The only way to get her family back is to travel with Nova to Los Lagos, a land in-between, as dark as Limbo and as strange as Wonderland.

Labyrinth Lost by Zoraida Córdova was fantastic! Loved the story and all the characters. The narrator was amazing and really made this an exciting story to listen to on audio.

Amazing narrator!

What disappointed you about Labyrinth Lost?

I really expected a lot more from this than I got. It was full of YA tropes like the brooding bad boy and the chosen one but it brought nothing new to them.

Has Labyrinth Lost put you off other books in this genre?

Yes, I think I'll be avoiding most YA fantasy from now on.

Any additional comments?

The world was interesting and ownvoices Latinex fiction is important but this just isn't a strong example of it.

Really Disappointed
