Summary
Admittedly, it wasn't murder. A moment's carelessness, a tragic accident - and two children are dead. Yours.
Living in a small island community, you can't escape the woman who destroyed your life. Each chance encounter is an agonizing reminder of what you've lost - your family, your future, your sanity.
How long before revenge becomes irresistible? With no reason to go on living, why shouldn't you turn your darkest thoughts into deeds?

Great book but too long
Good story, too much description, a bit slow moving with a good twist at the end.

Any additional comments?
At first, I thought this would be a book I dont particularly like due to bleak setting and subject. As I kept with it, I realised it was worth listening to the end.

Brilliant
What a brilliant storyline. Sharon Bolton has written yet another gripping tale with a delicious twist at the end.
The performances of three narrators in this audiobook are also fantastic and really held my interest. I finished this in a matter of days.

Little Black Lies
I enjoyed this one, it's not as good as the Lacey series but nevertheless I got through it pretty quickly.
The descriptions of The Falkland Islands was fascinating and very accurate of small island life!

Gripping to the very last sentence!!
I loved this book - the story line, the presentation of that story line through the eyes of the three main characters, the descriptions of the varying landscapes on the Falkland Islands, the references to the war and some of its impact it had.
Sharon Bolton is a new author to me but but this book captivated me right from the start - I couldn't put it down and I never saw that ending coming!!

Outstanding!
I’m a huge fan of Ms Bolton having discovered her 6 months ago. I love the Lacy series so was pleased to discover some of her earlier books.
I was torn to start with, it seemed like an indulgent geographic/historical/political piece about the Falklands disguised as a novel BUT it soon grips you and it cannot have been set anywhere else.
It’s a dark and twisting tale, just like the landscape where it’s set, a gripping whodunnit from the point of view of the 3 main characters whose love were changed 3 years previously. There stories are woven together so tightly it’s hard to know where to turn and the ending- what a punch in the gut, after all, happy endings that are tied up in a bow are boring!
This should be studied on a English lit curriculum- it’s fascinating, highly recommended

WOW! An amazing book and what an ending!!
I always know when I have listened to a particularly special book because I just have to write a review.
This book is incredible as are the narrator’s. Beautifully written, I love this author and this is definitely one her best. I can’t stop thinking about it, and the ending….
