About this listen

Sunny Los Angeles can be a dark place indeed in Cassandra Clare's Lord of Shadows, the sequel to the number-one New York Times and USA Today best-selling Lady Midnight. Lord of Shadows is a Shadowhunters novel.

Emma Carstairs has finally avenged her parents. She thought she'd be at peace. But she is anything but calm. Torn between her desire for her parabatai Julian and her desire to protect him from the brutal consequences of parabatai relationships, she has begun dating his brother, Mark. But Mark has spent the past five years trapped in Faerie; can he ever truly be a Shadowhunter again?

And the faerie courts are not silent. The Unseelie King is tired of the Cold Peace and will no longer concede to the Shadowhunters' demands. Caught between the demands of faerie and the laws of the Clave, Emma, Julian, and Mark must find a way to come together to defend everything they hold dear - before it's too late.

OMG sooo much better. James Master's performance of this was far better than Morena Baccarin's Lady Midnight. Made the ok writing far more enjoyable.

It's not often a sequel is better than the first book in a series but I honestly think this one was. Great characters and good character development - definitely felt differently towards a few characters at the end of the book. All I can really say is ruthless! I hope the next book arrives soon!

better than the first book!

i have read all the shadow hunter books and this one is by far my favourite to date. I was so drawn into the story and the characters. The narration by James Marsters is up there with my all time favourite performances. He brings every character to life with huge depth of emotion that in the final chapters I was sat in my car crying as the narration was so full of pure emotion that I almost felt I was there.

Please , please get James to narrate the rest of these books as they are released, to have anyone else read them now would be a travesty

great boom, amazing narration by James Marsters

There are people from LA and New Yorkers and yet this guys sounds like he’s from Texas or something🙄

The narrators voice is just so bad for this book.
