About this listen
A great collection of stories from the author of Fight Club.
In 'Zombies', the best and brightest of a high school become tragically addicted to the latest drug craze: electric shocks from cardiac defibrillators.
While in 'Tunnel of Love', a massage therapist runs the curious practice of providing 'relief' to dying clients.
And in 'Excursion', Fight Club fans will be thrilled to find a side of Tyler Durden never seen before.

Crude. Yet creative and well-written.
Morbid, but as real as a trainwreck, couldn't put earphones down until finished! Thank you, Chuck.

Fantastic collection of stories
Chuck Palahnuick has narrated stories that will forever remain in my mind. So many of them made me want to throw up in disgust. However, I could not stop myself from listening.

A lucky dip filled with hypodermic needles, bloated corpses and high school hormones
As with most short story collections this is a mixed bag. The best among the collection are (to be expected with Palahniuk) funny, original and gross.
My personal favourites from the collection were: Zombies, Red Sultan's Big Boy, Romance, Fetch and Inclinations.
For me, the weaker stories often feel like failed experiments, trying to challenge the formalities of narrative storytelling. It's not a bad complaint to have. I prefer a big swing and a miss to someone who always plays it safe.
Having said that, Palahniuk does return to familiar themes and certain distinct phrases that will be apparent to anyone who has read his other books. There are horny teenagers, horny adults, corpses in various states of decomposition, numerous references to genital harm, extended descriptions of innards, a pretty horrific allusion to rape and lots of creative vulgarities. I have to admit, rape aside, I'm totally down for all the above, but it's always a sense of heart that elevates the best of the collection.

Doesn't make em like he used to!
Chucks first about 8 books are some of the best I've ever read, they haven't quite managed to stay at that incredibly high standard. There was still some good story's in this book, but some i didn't like.

Painful listening.
This made for painful listening, very irritating delivery and narration and odd subject choices. tried the first 3 chapters and had enough of them by that. very disappointing given other titles such as fight club by the same author are much better.
