Summary

After the wildfires are finally extinguished with the first snowfall, Sequoia begins to heal, especially with the holidays around the corner. Life returns to normal in the Sierra mountain town, with caroling in the streets, sipping hot cocoa by the fire, and preparing for the lighting of the community Christmas tree on Main Street.

However, for Zion and Tate, life is never quite normal. Gabi is still making organ-shaped vases, Logan has changed his major again, and Joe has decided to redo the electrical wiring in the house to provide enough power to run both the kiln and the heat lamps for Gabi’s new pet snake, Saffron.

As if this wasn’t enough, Rebekah enlists Zion to help her plan her wedding, but will the wedding be derailed by a suspicious attack? And worse still, is Rebekah’s fiancé, David Bennett, the main suspect?

I love Kelley Hazen!

I have been a big fan of this book series for years since I bought the first 5 books as a set and binged it in a week. M.L. Hamilton is one of my favourite authors and Kelley Hazen is without a doubt an amazing narrator, she is wonderful to listen too she has such a huge range of voices that is very impressive.

I have been waiting ages for this book and didn’t even know it had been released until I was checking for new books as soon as I saw it, I bought it, and binged it in two days!

I think this is one of my favourite books in the series it is hysterical, so many laugh out loud moments. I love the characters they are so well written. But the most entertaining are, Jaguar, Dee, Logan, and Zion’s parents are incredible. Logan in utterly brilliant I lost count of how many times I burst out laughing when he was psychoanalyzing people.

The story was blatantly obvious and predictable, but that didn’t matter as it is so much fun, and the ride is enjoyable to behold.

I truly hope that M.L. Hamilton will continue to write more books for this series as there are so many amazing stories that could be told about these lovable and crazy characters.

I cant wait for the next book!

So Happy to Visit Sequoia Again!

Before I can say anything else, please note that this book is part of a series that is best enjoyed in order. The cozy mysteries that form the crux of each story are woven delicately to the natural life progression of the reoccurring characters in the series. The series features an eclectic community that should be savored from the first book onwards.

That said, ML Hamilton and Kelley Hazen have done it again!! The story and the performance are fantastic! This audiobook has everything I love about the series with its laugh out loud moments balanced against the more series suspense brewing under the surface of the plot. It has a bit of romance, a sense of community, plenty of humour, absurdities, and, of course, the mystery. Zion Sawyer may be the unofficial sleuth but her work would be incomplete without her mother's python, Logan's antics, her quirky team of batista, Jaguar's moments, Rebekah's drama and so on. It is all there, jam-packed in this fast-paced performance. I'm already eagerly anticipating the next book!

This audiobook was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review.

Teeth gratingly annoying characters

Rebecca is unbearable with no apparent redeeming features. The mother Gabbi is annoyingly selfish. The lead character, Zion is wet and needs to learn what a boundary is. David is pathetic. I honestly don’t understand why people find this charming and cosy. I found it completely grating, shrill, annoying and ridiculous. No one puts up with behaviour like this in real life. Awful
