Absolutely love this book. This one is about Ridge which is a cousin of the Wilder brothers and I like that one now expanding into the cousins which is what Carrie Ann Ryan has done with previous books like the Montgomery‘s absolutely love this big family feel to these books as I come from a big family, really find it nostalgic. Been listening to the audiobook and it is absolutely fantastic. The narrator does a beautiful job doing both sides of it.
This book has heartbreaking back stories for the main characters but love that they can understand each other and move forward together.

Ridge has a devastating loss of his own however he has been unable to share what happened with those he is closest to. When he meets Aurora, he senses a kindred soul and he wants to help her make peace with her past but he never expected that she would allow him to make peace with his own.
The devastating losses that both Aurora and Ridge were dealt were difficult enough but when they find themselves estranged from the people who should have been there for them it only makes it more painful. They understand, support and give each other hope for the future. The narrators managed to portray both the depth of emotions and the love they shared both through the good times and the not so good times.

I mean.. individually this couple needs some good in their lives, seriously! Life has dealt them both blows that I cannot comprehend and each day they get up and do 'it' all over again... survive!
The story of Ridge and Aurora is so emotionally beautiful. How they find each other and grasp on to shreds of happiness is a testament to the writing of Carrie Ann Ryan.
A beautiful 'second chance at love' story that will test every emotion and will have you cheering this lovely couple on to bigger and better things.
