About this listen

Their vacation to a group of tropical paradise islands called Seychelles was a dream come true until the father of the bride was murdered moments before the beachside wedding!

When Kat and her friends took a vacation trip to Seychelles, they were planning on spending some time snorkeling in the Indian Ocean, enjoying the food of Seychelles, and exploring the island of Mahé.

What they weren’t planning on was becoming involved in solving the murder of the father of the bride. And nearly all of the members of the large, wealthy Texas family, of which the victim was the patriarch, had a motive to commit murder.

When a man has an affair with a much younger woman and leaves his longtime wife and the mother of his four adult children for her, it’s bound to leave some scars. But which of the scarred people murdered the big Texas oil tycoon?

Join Kat, her friends, the police, and Harry, a three-legged dog, as they hurry to catch the suspect before the killer leaves the island!

This is the 11th book in the Midwest Cozy Mystery series by a USA Today best-selling author.

I enjoyed this book. This is a nice, easy cozy mystery that is easy to follow even if this is your first outing out with Kat and her friends. Once again the author has created a character driven story that keeps you guessing but this time it is set on a beautiful island that is very easy to imagine. The mystery starts with the murder and then goes back in time to explain how Kat becomes involved in the investigation. I think this works because you know who is killed and you can then listen out for the clues , although I never did guess the killer. I hope this series continues even though the holiday has come to an end because that are a likeable group of characters that I like spending time with.
Kat and her friends are spending the last of there holiday on the Seychelles island enjoying the warmth of the sun after there cold England visit. The last thing they expected is to find another group of Americans also on the island. With everybody staying in the same hotel they soon become friendly and Kat and her friends get an invitation to the wedding. But not everything is perfect in paradise and the family arguments and rivalry soon spill over. Then tragedy strikes on the day of the wedding and the father of the bride is found floating in the pool. Fearing an international indecent the Seychelles police ask Kat as a keen observer to help give her opinion on the family members. Can Kat work out who had the biggest motive to murder the oil tycoon?
I liked the narrator as she used different voices to give a voice to each of the characters.
