About this listen
Freddie Evans is flamboyant, funny, and a lifelong fan of Jane Austen’s love stories which is how he ended up as a guide on a tour bus. He firmly believes in happily ever afters and would love to find his own with his best friend, Darcy.
Driving a Jane Austen tour bus isn’t the most exciting side job in the world, but to Darcy Griffiths, it represents precious time with his best friend Freddie, who’s the guide. He’s loved him since they were teenagers but has never had the nerve to tell him.
Secrets and feelings become revealed as Freddie and Darcy deal with overly amorous newlyweds and arguments over seat allocations. What will Freddie do when he finally realises his very own Mr Darcy is right under his nose?
This novella originally appeared in the Heart2Heart charity anthology, and no new content has been added.

An adorable best friends to lovers romance
I loved the concept of an Austen tour guide and his bus driving best friend falling in love, and Darcy and Freddy's story was just as snarky and humorous as all of Lily Morton's best writing. I found myself giggling with delight multiple times throughout their journey, and for a story so short there was plenty to keep me interested from start to finish. Freddy and Darcy had been best friends for ages, and somewhere along the way they'd both decided they didn't want to risk their friendship for romance even though they'd both secretly developed deep feelings for the other. In a twist of fate they'd both signed up for Heart2Heart profiles and started chatting with a potential love match without telling the other, and when that truth came out during a tour they'd been paired up for, everything started changing. With the support of a few well-meaning tourists, Darcy and Freddy suddenly weren't as off limits to each other as they'd always assumed, and all it took was one of them to take the leap of faith for them both to embrace a new facet of their relationship. Freddy and Darcy fell into bed with the passion of two people who'd been waiting ages to get their hands on each other, and it was extra sweet because of the emotional connection they already had as friends. I was thrilled by how happily their shared tour ended, and though the surprise reveal at the end wasn't much of a surprise for me, it was still fun to see Freddy get shocked one more time by how fate kept throwing him and Darcy together.

Sweet, short rom-com
Joel Leslie in contemporary romances and rom-coms is truly the best!! It is what he does best!
This is short, sweet, funny and hot! We spend a bit more time with the people in the tour than with the 2 MCs but it was a fun read of a rom-com friends to lovers.

A heartwarming story
This was such a sweet and romantic novella. Fred and Darcy were absolutely wonderful together. Their happily ever after brought a smile to my face, I was rooting for them from chapter one. And I just love the narrator, his voice is so beautiful. He brought Fred and Darcy to life. Brilliant.

Lovely, quick listen
These are the kinds of stories that Lily Morton excels at. My Darcy was a lovely friends-to-lovers story with enough packed in to never feel like you are missing out on a full story.
As a Jane Austen fan, I enjoyed the little details about the tour and the characters on the bus.
Darcy and Freddie (Captain Wentworth like name there) are just two hopeless best friends who have been in love with each other since the start, but neither had the courage to say anything, never believing the other had feelings. The Heart 2 Heart app changes that along with some older lady meddling.
Joel Leslie does a great job bringing these characters to life.

A swoony friends to lovers short story
This was such a cute short story/one-shot! If you are looking for sweet, spicy, low angst a friends to lovers story and also happen to be a Jane Austen fan then this audio is perfect for you! Plus per usual Joel Leslie does a fantastic job narrating our two lead MCs, and the cast of characters on the tour bus was so true to how group tours always go 🤣

Perfect romantic pick me up
What a perfect little short! As always I loved the characters and their banter, because that's a hallmark of a Lily Morton story. In such short pages, even the side characters were big and bold! There was nothing shocking or surprising on this one, but exactly the fluffy romantic pick me up I needed!

The side characters were hilarious!
This was such a splendid listen. It was sweet, super funny, spicy, just a perfect friends to lovers novella.
The side characters were simply amazing, I'm sure I looked somewhat unhinged walking around the supermarket listening to this and randomly laughing loudly 🫣
Lily Morton is relatively new to me so I'm really looking forward to starting more of her books and Joel Leslie is so so good in everything he narrates.
Could not recommend this highly enough ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
