Summary
Matthew Angel is stuck. He's 41 and spent his life denying who he is and what he truly wants—until he stumbles upon a unique offering at a specialty charity auction: a Christmas Daddy experience.
Erik Garner has given up on relationships. After his last boy left, he decided it’s better to skip the heartache and stick with casual, short-term contracts. His offer of an exclusive, one-night-only Christmas encounter is all he’s willing to give.
Matthew’s older than expected, but his shy smile and eager surrender charm Erik. What starts out as a business transaction quickly gives way to a wild, thrilling intensity neither expected.
One night isn’t enough.
Good thing there’s a blizzard on the way....

So good, so intense
Leta Blake & John Solo team up yet again for this explosive, intense, emotional, kinky ride to discovering love, healing, and loving yourself. Matthew & Erik are amazing together, even though it takes them a little time to work out the kinks, so to speak. They finally do, and it's beautiful and everything they both needed. John Solo brought such grit and raw emotion to the already intense emotionally turbulent tale. Absolutely well done. Very raw, very intense power play & dynamic, so very good.

Matthew and Erik
This is a sweet 42 yr old virgin brought up with Religious beliefs, who sets his alarm to PM and misses his flight home, so goes to an Auction were he wins a Daddy for Christmas 1 night only. He likes the sound of it. Erik has lost his boy of 5 years and his friend talks him into the Auction as a way back in. Little did either know it would change their lives for the better. Loved it

Beautiful story!
I absolutely loved this!
A beautifully written, highly emotional and super hot daddy/boy romance sublimely narrated by John Solo.
This had me hooked right from the beginning, effortlessly drawing me in. I want to say so much more about this story but, I won't, as I don't want to spoil this absolute delight for anyone.

Wow, I loved it
A Daddy for Christmas, even if you have to win him in an auction.
This is for you if you want a feel-good Christmas book with a daddy/boy. Full of heartfelt firsts, a beautifully written story that you will want to listen to year after year. It handles an older boy who is a virgin with religious parents, who, until they died, hadn't been able to actually admit he was gay. Such a sad start to his life, but Daddy eventually helped. You still get sad moments throughout.
John Solo did a fantastic job of the audio, bringing the characters to life. I did speed up to 1.15 on audible, which is usual.

A Christmas daddy
This was my first audiobook by Leta Blake and I found it heartwarming. i like her great and wonderful writing style.
I love reading daddy/boy stories. Matthew is an older boy who doesn't have a lot of experience due to his past.
He buys his Santa Daddy at a charity ball. This one is a bit younger and comes in the form of Erik, who has been persuaded by a friend to make this appearance. Actually, he is also still struggling with the events from the past. Erik is struggling with a loss and he doesn't know if he's ready for a relationship.
But at the first time Erik and Matthew met, you could sense that they had chemistry.
At first the story developed rather slowly, but the relationship between the two develops much faster. No wonder, because the one planned night unexpectedly turns into a weekend. I really enjoyed the dynamic of an older boy and younger daddy. It was refreshing and intriguing.
At the same time, it was great to watch the development of their relationship. They do really well for each other and I liked Erik's sensitive way of responding to Matthew's needs.
Erik and Matthew were really hot together and there were some hot and spicy scenes.
John Solo did a great job bringing the story to life. He is a talented narrator and gives each character a distinct voice that fits the personality. He portrayed the emotions well and was a pleasure to listen to.

Erotic indeed
Not sure about fwtting his own back on his parannts but to each his own. I can relate togrowing up in fear of parannts finding out their son is gay and this story covers the frustration and need in trying to hide away. I guess to find the right man to bri g him out is so lucky.

I'm a little conflicted about this one
This book is on the longer side, and honestly it did feel long to me. For the first 75% I felt like it could have been edited down a bit. I really enjoy what I think of as 'quiet' books, where there is not much in the way of events or supporting characters, but is instead intensely focused on the main characters and their relationship. This book has that kind of set-up, but for all that I didn't feel like I got to know Matthew and Erik very well (I only finished the book yesterday but just had to look up Erik's name).
There is lots of tell, tell, tell - I am like THIS because of THAT thing in my past - and not much show. And the telling - whether dialogue or internal monologue - was a lot of repetition of the same things: Erik only having young men as boys, and them inevitably leaving, and Matthew having low self-esteem and guilt over his sexuality due to his parents and their religious beliefs.
The book picked up for me in the last part, when Matthew reclaimed his power as an adult and called Erik out on his bulls**t. I enjoyed the breaking down of the Infallible Daddy that you see in so many books (which I find tiresome and ridiculous) and the reminder that subs are adults and are not powerless in a power dynamic. There are little bits of humour in the last part - that is sadly missing through the majority of the book - which helped me to like Erik and Matthew more and to be more invested in their relationship. I find it difficult to care about relationships where the characters don't laugh together.
There are some things in this book that might be uncomfortable for some: referring to Matthew's a*se as his "bussy" (boy p*ssy); enemas (not brief); and Matthew's hyperfixation on his parents and that it is expressed sexually.
I appreciated the emphasis on consent, safety and subs having their needs met, but I'm afraid I found the sex very unsexy. It felt to me like they were so focused on playing their roles that the essence of two human beings connecting was lost.

Yeah - it is a switch in more than one way
This is a very non traditional holiday read. I so appreciate that the dynamic is with an older submisive with a younger dominant. I liked how Matthew grabbed the opportunity to explorer his sexuality and truely experienced what he needed. Erik as the slightly bruised men he is took a while to warm up to. I feel I as a reader not to know more about him. I however appreciate that it took him time to figure out that Matthew is his forever one. A huge plus in this story for me is also that altough they identify to certain expected role stereotypes they both dare and do explore beyond the expected patterns. They dk find their hfn/ hea. I liked ti find a new (to me) book by Leta Blake and I was pleasantly surprised and listened yo the book whilst gearing up for the holiday period.
Narration:
John Solo, it was a pleasure to hear him narrate agian. I found after having listen to to many books by him that his stye became to 'known' for me. I can safely say that was not the case this time around. After swiitching up narrators for a bit it was great to be 'back' to a much listened and liked narrator.

Stunning! Masterful Performance by J. Solo
What a unique and brilliantly written story! Leta Blake never fails to push the envelope when it comes to digging deep inside her characters, and I'm completely blown away by Matthew and Erik. These two men undergo an incredible journey in My December Daddy.
Leta Blake’s message of healing, the promise of peace and joy and a future both men deserve… well, it’s truly beautiful.
Audiobook fans already know what a treasure John Solo is, but he delivers an absolutely masterful performance in My December Daddy. Emotional and raw, simply gorgeous.
