Summary

A new home. A loving wife. A secret that could kill...

With its peeling wallpaper and overgrown garden, I know our new home isn’t perfect. But my husband, Ben, promises it’s the fresh start we need. I remind myself that he’s an amazing father to our two children and that we have years of happy marriage behind us. He’s been distant for months, but I’m desperate to believe the move will bring us back together.

When I meet our next-door neighbor Sara, I’m immediately relieved. She’s so welcoming and full of local gossip. But the moment she meets Ben, I’m sure an angry frown flickers across her smiling face. Later, he says I’m imagining things....

Why is my husband lying?

Then, one night as I tuck our children into bed, the silence is broken by a knock on the front door. A stranger is standing on our doorstep. I turn to look at Ben’s face as he stares at her with unconcealed fury. Has he met this woman before? Nothing could prepare me for what she says: "I know who you are. Get out of my house."

If you enjoyed The Housemaid, The Perfect Marriage, and The Wife, you will love My Husband’s House. Gripping and totally addictive, you’ll be hooked from the very beginning.

Most Predictable Book Ever

I’ve genuinely never read / listened to a more predictable book in my entire life. Every single bit of it was so obvious - but written as though the reader / listener should be a complete idiot and not easily be working it all out as it happens.

However - the one main bit of intrigue that ran throughout the book was never actually resolved in the end! I even skipped back and re listened to the last couple of chapters as I thought I’d just been too bored that my brain had wondered and I’d missed important bits. But no, it’s just left unanswered.

The book is very slow to start, very very obvious, and has left me feeling a bit angry I wasted my time on it to be honest..

The narrator didn’t help, she reads every line as though she’s telling you something she’s incredibly smug about.

I gave this 2 stars as I’ve probably ready worse, but not much.. haha!

This was a good read although at times I found it hard to get into it and hard to really feel the characters.. but overall worth a listen

another good one

for those who like psychological mysteries this is a good one. I found it interesting, enjoyable and with the right amount of 'wonder who' and 'what happens next' to keep it flowing. Then there are those little twists which change the 'I've worked it out' surety! the narration by Tamsin was great as usual.
