About this listen
A headstrong woman and a protective man with an Alpha attitude are sharing passionate nights together . . . but is their relationship beyond physical?
Night time is the right time….
Gwendolyn Kidd has met the man of her dreams. He's hot, he's sexy, and what started as a no-names-exchanged night of passion has blossomed into a year and a half-long pleasure fest. Sure, it's a little strange that he only appears in her bed at night, but Gwen is so sure he's the one, she just can't turn him away….
Hawk Delgado knows more about Gwen than she could ever imagine. She's gorgeous, headstrong, and skittish about relationships. But Hawk is facing his own demons, demons that keep him from connecting with anyone. Yet when Gwen is drawn into Denver's lethal underground scene, Hawk's protective nature comes out full force. The problem is, when Gwen gets a dose of Hawk's Alpha attitude in the daylight, she's not so sure he's the one anymore….

Couldn't get enough of Hawke
Got to say. I absolutely loved this book. It had everything. Romance, intrigue, mystery, passion, fashion, fun, lots of emotional drama, and we also get hot, sexy Commandos, Police Officers, Motorcycle Men (we get a Chaos fix) and, best of all, Gabe 'Hawke' Delgado. Hawke is the ultimate alpha male, fighting to protect what's his, and it would appear he has claimed ditzy, clueless Gwen as his own, he just needs to own that decision and not break her heart. I loved the writing, the characters and the story. A firm favourite.

Thumbs Up
I love Kristen Ashley books, and this one has suspense, romance and hot men/women. But I have to add i'm little jealous of Gwen, who sits all day because she is an editor, drinks cosmos and eats cookie dough but still have a killer body. How?🤪

Fantastic performance
Hawk is the ultimate soldier. With a hardness that only one can get through. Luckily this damsel in distress is the one. A great storyline and the characters are very well written. A brilliant performance.

It’s ok
I have mixed feelings about this book. I normally love KA’s books but this book has some lovely parts and some that are just infuriating but that could be down to my own preferences and beliefs. The narrator was good but at times I think she didn’t realised she mixed the voices. Overall good but not to the standard of other KA books.

needs to find another narrator
I've only ever listened not read these books and this narrator is so irritating I just could not go beyond chapter 6. She makes it sound childish which is not in sync with the story line . the males end up sounding like a joke the whole thing is just not worth my money, I wish I had returned it but kept it too long before listening to it. I wouldn't recommend. maybe if you tried reading the experience would be better. unfortunately I don't care enough to try.

Just NO
I’ve started and failed with this book several times as the narration is dire - voices, intonation, interpretation all bad. Nonetheless I tried again as Hawk features in other KA books and I wanted to know more about him. KA has a lot of toxic alpha types as heroes who ignore issues of consent, stalk, spy on, break into the houses of, trap and otherwise mistreat their “love” interests, but Hawk takes the cake. I have to take these novels with a large pinch of salt and a slight lobotomy as an intelligent woman to enjoy them, but with this one just NO. He is ... the WORST. The novel starts after he’s been ‘seeing’ the heroine for over a YEAR which involves breaking into her house and sleeping with her. They haven’t even exchanged names. CREEPY. She remarks she hasn’t seen him in DAYLIGHT near the beginning of the book. This seriously messed up dynamic is not something she addresses once they start having a more ‘normal’ relationship.
The heroine is no peach either, breathtakingly shallow, she tells us while others yearn for family, or charitable achievements, she wants SHOES. Don’t even start me on what she thinks marriage is (hint, it’s all about the material benefits of a wedding - and people thinking the bride is pretty).
Just too messed up all around.

Could be better
I loved Kristen Ashley’s Rock Chick series (Rock Chick especially), which encouraged me to download more of her books and follow the rest rest of her novels. But sadly, the stories are more about sex than the story line, so I was a little disappointed.
The narrator for this novel is to “breathy” for this story, which makes the female character sound weak rather than a strong woman dealing with what is going on around her. And the narration for the male does not properly portray a man who is strong and looking out for his woman, like Liam in Rock Chick did. I couldn’t fully connect with either character.
Although I do enjoy Kristen Ashley stories, and good chemistry between characters..., personally, I would really like more to the story line like she started, not just about sex all the time. And narrators need to portray the essence of the book.
Was sadly disappointed, but it doesn’t make it a bad listen overall, just need to persevere to the end.
