Summary

From Mark Greaney, the New York Times best-selling author of Mission Critical and a coauthor of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan novels, comes another high-stakes thriller featuring the world's most dangerous assassin: the Gray Man.

While on a mission to Croatia, Court Gentry uncovers a human trafficking operation. The trail leads from the Balkans all the way back to Hollywood.

Court is determined to shut it down, but his CIA handlers have other plans. The criminal ringleader has actionable intelligence about a potentially devastating terrorist attack on the US. The CIA won't move until they have that intel. It's a moral balancing act with Court at the pivot point.

Still a fan but took some getting used too

Personally don’t think the switch into first person worked. Story still great and won’t put me off next one, just took some getting used too

Another great adventure

Very good story although it took a little bit to get going. The story itself was great however the narrators South African accent was shocking it sounded Scottish. Please don’t do accents unless they are good, it spoils the moment.

The Gray Man never disappoints

Yet another excellent Gray Man installment, it’s non-stop action and well narrated as always. The first-person angle took me a while to follow, but overall it’s a solid story.

Very good story, different style this time.

This time you are in The Gray man's brain and having the conversation with him. We can all imagine how human trafficking can be, this is very close to how we can see if really been.

Jay did a good job on the many voice but please don't do South African again. Your attempt at South Africa accent was English even near Scottish at times, definitely not South African.

Another decent time spend

I like these books though wish the actor stopped trying to accents as he’s not great and some effort to understand geography would also be good...

Story is entertaining as always and though the main story line sounds unbelievable, it’s sadly a fact that there are a few people out there spreading this kind of misery...

Excellent next chapter

I don’t often write reviews of any kind but the latest instalment in the grey man series compels me to do just that.

It seems an age since I started with the first book in the series and as it had progressed I have felt more and more in step with Court to the point where I was very much looking forward to the release of this title. It does not disappoint.

The storyline here will not disappoint and sees the action fly at a similar pace to a eurocopter. The action is intense and Mark Greaney is one of the few authors who genuinely takes me into action sequences that I not only believe but then also have a physical response to. My heart has quickened on many occasions and this is a combination of excellent story and excellent storytelling.

Jay Snyder does another outstanding job. I will say some accents are a little far from credible (not least the South African villains) but with such geographically diverse characters I think a little artistic license is allowed. And what is missed in those accents is more than made up for by his obvious passion and talent for narration.

Don’t read this one before others in the series. Start at the beginning and build up to this latest adventure. It is well worth the investment.

Another great Grey Man book in the series.

One book not to miss in the great Grey Man series. This is the 2nd listen for me and just as full of action and enjoyment as the 1st time. Don't miss this 5 star + novel. One listen you will be unable to stop the thriller and writing of Mark Greaney.

How much does this narrator get paid?

because he's certainly not earning his money. How hard is it, when you're an actor to learn an accent....a couple of days? The main villian's South African accent, is like an amalgamation of 4 different accents, none of which are actually SA, and it changes!!. It's just lazy and does the story a disservice.

Great story, OK performance

Great story as usual. Mark Greaney a cut above most.

Narrator Jay Snyder usually excellent but sadly there are South African characters in this one. His South African accent is so excruciatingly bad (veers between Eastern European and Scottish) that it detracts from the story.

Jay - you’re a professional narrator, it’s an easy accent, 2-3 days of practice and it’s done. Bit lazy.
