About this listen
Finn and Kaz are about to meet for the first time.
Ten-year-old Finn, a quirky, sensitive boy who talks a lot and only eats at cafes with a 5-star hygiene rating, is having a tough time at school and home.
Outspoken Kaz, 59, who has an acerbic sense of humour and a heart of gold, is working at the café when Finn and his mum come in.
They don't know it yet, but the second time they meet will be a moment which changes both of their lives forever . . .

Excellent.
Loved it. Both sad and uplifting. Up to date descriptions of DWP and their cruel inhumane treatment of job seekers and disabled.

Rather Gentle Story - Does Have a Point Eventually
This is actually two separate stories that the listener expects will come together, and judging by the title, come together at one significant Moment which affects both lives forever.
The first story is about Finn Rook-Carter, a 10 y.o. boy who is definitely on-the-spectrum. A bit of an Adrian Mole character. He's having a difficult time fitting in at school and his parents are working their way towards a divorce.
The other story is about Karen Allen (Cas). She's 59, trying to look after her mentally ill younger brother and is struggling to cope financially.
Both stories are a bit of a long saga, and we get to know the characters pretty well as we wait to find out what "The Moment" is going to be.
The final ending is pretty good, and is well worth the journey getting there.
Linda Green writes great thrillers. This book isn't a thriller, but there's something of the same style about it as we anticipate the moment.

A heart wrenching touching tale
Listened to this as an audible book. Totally touching, and heart warming, and sad, and funny and just a lovely relationship story cleverly woven. A gorgeous must read

Pulls at the heartstrings
I loved this book , so many children face Finns daily battle when they are seen as “ different “ . This highlights the struggles and the ways a lot of kids get through . The characters were very likeable and believable. Excellent listen x

One life changing moment
I have really liked Linda Greens books.
This is no exception and is exquisitely and beautifully written. The characters are believable and out there in the community. Ms Green draws you in so that you care about these people and feel you have known them for years.
The story follows two family’s and the events before and after « the moment »
The narration is perfect and I thoroughly recommend this book.

Heartbreaking, heartwarming and gripping
Linda Green is a new author to me, having heard her talking about this book on the radio. I shall certainly be checking out more of her work.
I loved the way the story skipped between Before and After, and I'm sure I wasn't the only person screaming internally "WHAT HAPPENED?"! Every character was so well written they felt like a real person who I knew and wanted to hug and protect - and I'm not a huggy person. The sad reality that many people in our society continue to experience similar circumstances makes me so angry, but proud to have a few aspects of many of the nicer characters amongst my friends and family.
