About this listen

Angel Sands is an old-fashioned seaside resort of bed and breakfasts, cottages to let, and teashops. And with the best views of the tiny beach is Paradise House, home to the Baxter girls. With their mother taking time out to find herself, it’s down to them to maintain the smooth running of the family-owned bed and breakfast. Not an easy task given that their father - now that his wife isn’t around - has suddenly become a moving target for the opposite sex.…

Didn't enjoy this as much as Erica James's other books. Thoughtful and gentle story, but quite long drawn out. The narrator I found a little irritating, sorry narrator! It's hard to listen to an accent for so long , even though I'm welsh myself.

Gentle story set in Wales

This is the first Erica James book I've read and I really enjoyed it. The characters were all believable, the story went along at an easy pace and the narrator did a great job of giving each character a different voice.

I really enjoyed it

I found the beginning difficult as there were so many characters. However I soon got engrossed in the story and it made a long car journey pass quickly as I couldn’t stop listening. The main character was very likeable and I enjoyed her journey.
The narrator took a little getting used to but that didn’t spoil my enjoyment.

Enjoyable listen

Narrator leaves a lot to be desired as she highlights the wrong words and gives an awful accent to the deaf person. I persevered as I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story.

Great story, poor narrator.

Good story but think it needed a younger voice. The Midlands accent was diabolical and put me off, shame as Erica James books are amongst my favourite.

Good story

The monotoned, stilted narration really spoiled this for me. I kept drifting off. Shame as it is really quite a good story.

Good story but terrible choice of narrator
