Summary

There's nothing wrong with your child! Stop worrying! No matter how often your friends and family may say this, if you know that your child is developing differently from their peers, it's time to stand up for your conundrum child.

When you have a child with additional needs, what's important is not that they get top marks or play rugby for the first team: it's that they are able to get changed quickly enough after PE or have a friend round on a stress-free playdate. Use the CAN approach to help your child Connect, Achieve and Navigate their way to independence.

This audio book gives you the strategies you need to:

  • Connect with yourself and your child
  • Ditch the parent guilt

A-Z GUIDE FOR PARENTS WITH KIDS THAT ARE STRUGGLIN

I came across this book from an assesment my son had. So it just happened by chance after alot of investigation that I zoned in on this place in Surbiton and it was by sheer luck I got an appointment and managed to secure a spot with the Clinic Director. Well I am sure when you read this book you will understand what I mean and you may even want to get the audible and listen to it as well as its uncanningly calming as the Author. Aniesa just knows how to connect with children and does not just look at their needs but their wants as well. Simple instructions to achieve their goals. Her soft tone ,calm manner and the way in which she deals with us as parents which I guess through her own experiences really makes a difference in her approach in this book. You can just feel ease and with that anything suggested is just so simple and easy to follow. I highly recommend the book and would advise that if you are in reasonable proximity to Surbiton and need OT advice which I now believe most children do need and should look her up at Sensational Kids. The best piece of advice in the book which I wish I had been told possibly three years ago if you think there is something not quite right even if it's an instinct and you may of taken them to your local gp or hospital ....take them to a professional like Aniesa. Just the comment about vision and the teacher I can really relate to this. My son just went in yesterday with a pair of new bifocals and prisms and its just incredible these changes. We now have a new found hope and so do the teachers after my son was told by the head of academics ysdy that he would get in to a good school which is what he wanted. He was overwhelmed with joy....I was not quite sure where the conversation had appeared from but It now seems a combination of the interaction with the OT ,the glasses and the exercises he was already doing as per Aniesa Biore. Its honestly money well spent. My child is already making improvements just after a short space in time so do not waste that development time. Read it and make the decision for a positive and happy future. This book teaches you the whole process of what you where how and when and why. A must have.
