About this listen

Bob Dillon is a down-on-his-luck exterminator from Queens who just wants to make a killing with his radical new environmentally friendly pest elimination technique, involving his hybrid assassin bugs (a very real group of insects). But when Bob decides to advertise, his flyer falls into the hands of a European murder-for-hire broker who mistakes Bob for a professional assassin. Before he knows it, Bob's "competition" targets him for extermination, sending him running for his life from a motley collection of the world's deadliest and most outrageously eccentric contract killers.

Insects, Bob Dylan and comic crime

I read this years ago and was wary of listening in case it didn't live up to its memory but I loved it then and I love it now. It probably does help if you have an interest in insects and know your Bob Dylan songs but even if you don't, it is well plotted, funny and good hearted. It would certainly appeal to anyone who likes Carl Hiaasen's books and it is a great shame there are no other books by Bill Ftizhugh on Audible.

fun story, very nicely read

really rather enjoyed this story including all the insect bits. The narrator really helps and it's a great listen. it's not a gripping thriller if that is what you are looking for, more a fun journey
