Summary
For those who prefer their romance novel served with a helping of satirical, subversive, and absurd transgressions, welcome to the Seattle City Attorney's Office. In the skyscrapers high above Seattle, lawyers toil day and night. Working-class roots keep Maria humble. A one-ton chip on his shoulder keeps Ben discontent. Unattainable Blue-blooded expectations keep Erin unfulfilled. Pull on your own professional camouflage and get ready, because sparks fly in the courtroom, but the real drama happens outside of it.
Transgressive author Christopher J. Stockwell's absurdist and satirical take on transgressive fiction goes beyond the confined by norms paradigm and into the glass towers above the city. Enjoy!

Great
This legal satire is wickedly entertaining! Stockwell nails the absurdity of Seattle's law scene with a perfect mix of snark and spice. Maria, Ben, and Erin's tangled office drama had me hooked. It's like "The Office" meets "Suits" with an edgy twist. If you're tired of predictable romance, this one's deliciously different!

Witty, Sharp, and Wildly Entertaining
Stockwell’s satirical style hits all the right notes—balancing sharp wit, complex character relationships, and a storyline that dives headfirst into the surreal world of high-stakes legal battles, both in and out of the courtroom.
Maria, Ben, and Erin are such well-drawn characters. Each brings a unique tension to the narrative: Maria with her grounded perspective, Ben with his blue-collar resentment, and Erin's never-ending pursuit of impossible expectations. Their lives collide in ways that are both absurd and surprisingly relatable, showing the rawness and grit behind those polished city-office facades. Stockwell takes aim at social class, office politics, and personal ambition with humor that’s edgy, thought-provoking, and just a bit over the top—exactly what makes it such a fresh and enjoyable listen.

Office Drama with a Twist!
Professional Camouflage is like peeking into a legal soap opera with a wicked twist! You’ve got Maria, Ben, and Erin—each with their own baggage, ambitions, and a dash of romantic tension simmering in Seattle’s high-rise courtrooms. But let’s be real, the real drama isn’t the cases—it’s the hilarious, over-the-top chaos outside the courtroom. This book had me smirking at its absurd takes and rooting for characters that are flawed, fun, and just a little too real. If you’re into rom-coms with bite, this one's for you.

Romance with an edge
This novel brilliantly blends romance with biting satire and offers a unique and wildly entertaining view of life in the high-stakes Seattle City Attorney’s Office. This story turns conventional romance on its head, combining wit and absurdity to craft a plot full of sharp social commentary and unexpected twists. Set against a backdrop of skyscrapers and courtroom drama, this novel brings together humour, satire, and a dose of surrealism, making it a refreshing take on workplace romance.

Satirical Twist on Romance
Each character brings their own quirks and baggage, making for a dynamic, at times chaotic, ensemble cast. Maria’s grounded nature, Ben’s unyielding chip on his shoulder

Entertaining and with satirical humour
I enjoyed this story, as I found it entertaining, and I enjoyed the satirical sense of humor that the writer has implemented. We get to know Ben, Maria, and Erin throughout the book, and I liked that we get to be part of their current life and peek into their past and upbringing. This background info gives a much deeper understanding of the characters, their motivation, and what makes them tick - highly recommended if you are looking for an entertaining story with a bit of satirical humor sprinkled throughout it.
