About this listen

A mother's murder. A daughter's quest for truth. A killer ready to strike again.

When Daryl Brackstone approaches private investigators Sebastian Clifford and Lucinda "Birdie" Bird about her mother's decades-old murder, she's hoping to finally uncover the truth. Her father died in prison for the crime, but Daryl has never believed in his guilt. As Seb and Birdie dig deeper, they discover Helen Brackstone wasn't just a suburban housewife—she was part of a secretive activist group investigating high-level corruption.

When threatening messages and intimidation tactics start targeting the investigators, it becomes clear that powerful people want the past to stay buried. What secrets did Helen uncover that made her a target?

The clock is ticking for Seb and Birdie to expose the real killer before they become the next victims.

Step into a deadly world of buried secrets and fatal consequences in Question of Guilt, the seventh installment in the completely gripping Detective Sebastian Clifford series.

The book was certainly captivating with a good insight in detective work and I adore the narrator.

So many twists and turns

It's always great to catch up with Seb and Birdie, and this time, a cold case falls into their laps. As they delve deeper into the murder of Helen Brackstone, alliances have now changed. So, what appeared to be a straightforward domestic violence case ending in Helen's death is now looking anything but!
A fast-paced 'whodunnit' that all Rigby readers will love.

4.5/5

Love this series of Max Clifford and Birdie books, always an interesting storyline along with the continuing following of the lives of the ongoing characters. But also as important is the great voice of Jonathan Keeble narrating the book, a superb narrator.

Another great book in the Max Clifford series!
