About this listen
Stopping only for a brief but intensely erotic dalliance with the beautiful Simon Abrahams, Phryne picks her way through the mystery with help from the old faithfuls: Bert, Cec, Dot, and Detective Inspector "Call Me Jack" Robinson. But ultimately it is her stealth and wit that solve the crime - and all for the price of a song....

Great Auzzie Story
If you could sum up Raisins and Almonds in three words, what would they be?
An exciting, gripping yarn. Loved this story, was introduced to Phryne Fisher through the Australian Television network and was a little worried that the audible would not.match up to the audible, not the case. Stephanie Daniel's narrated it wonderfully .
What was one of the most memorable moments of Raisins and Almonds?
Loved Dot's continuing innocence and the exploration of Jewish culture, found this really interesting and looking at the perceptions of finding a Jewish state from a 1920's Jewish perspective.
Greenwood weaver this into the story and for me added further interest into the mystery.
Which scene did you most enjoy?
Loved the scene with the scientist's house where the mystery finally unfolds, found it funny as well as exciting.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
Greenwood weaves humour, sadness and excitement throughout the book, just loved it!

More a history than an adventure
I enjoyed this one, but more for the historic aspects than anything else.
it's not as exciting as some of her other works, but shines a fascinating light on the Jewish community in Australia before the second world war.
The reading was excellent as usual.

Raisins and Almonds
Another terrifically funny murder mystery, this time diving into the Jewish community, where Miss Fisher picks up a Jewish man to befriend and his father asks her to help a tenant who has been arrested. This story has many interesting cultural differences just like in the story when she teamed up with a Chinese man. Read brilliantly again by Stephanie Daniel.
