About this listen

Expert mountain climber Jayden Harris has the world at her feet until an avalanche at Everest base camp sweeps it all out from under her. She wants nothing more to do with the mountains, and turns her back on it all.

Rhian Phillips is a successful London marketing executive who has the chance of a lifetime fall in her lap. She’s sent to produce a reality TV series on competitive climbers, while showcasing the stunning beauty of a Patagonian glacier and the Cerro Fitz Roy range.

An accident brings Jayden and Rhian together, and outside pressures keep them at each other’s sides. When you’re stuck between a rock and a hard place eventually something has to give. The one thing they never counted on was them both wanting to stay together.

A lesbian romance about pushing onwards and defying expectations.

A lovely narration of a really good story.

Again Andrea Bramhall takes a subject she knows and turns it into a really good story. This time it's rock climbing, as the title and the book cover denote, which the gives the story a little edginess, so you could call it a romance with a twist of suspense.

Rhian is put in charge of putting together a reality TV show/competition for a marketing campaign in Patagonia. Jayden is an extremely good mountain climber, who has purposefully retired herself from the scene after watching her partner get killed in an avalanche, she also happens to be the sister of the owner/manager of the Outdoor Company that Rhian has contracted to help run the mountain climbing competition. Jayden is dragged into hosting the competition when her sister has an accident which rules her out of taking part. There are a few misunderstandings and a couple of project headaches along the way but, eventually they both reach the same page.

If you're an outdoors sort pf person, as I am, you will love the description of the Patagonian scenery and tech stuff about mountain climbing. If you're not then there's enough love story, angst, humour, bully boys and so on to keep you enchanted with the story.

Nicola Victoria Vincent, as usual, does a lovely job narrating the story, despite the fact that she had to come up with a few foreign accents as well as the UK (NW) ones, at times I felt that I could even hear Andrea's voice coming through.

All in all I have listened to this audio book a few times and couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Action packed lesbian romance - loved it

Suspend your disbelief about a couple of plot sontrivances and you will be taken on a wonderful, action packed journey to Patagonian mountains and a complicated climb to find true love. I don't know anything about climbing but it sounded authentic and was interesting for bringing a new dimension to the heart-warming lesbian romances I love to read in these difficult times. One tiny bugbear is that "knickers" have no place in a sex sex scene; the vision of large 'Bridget Jones Diary' pants quite spoils the romance. Other than that, a very enjoyable audiobook thanks to both author and narrator.
