About this listen

Regan Fletcher

I used to have big dreams: finish college, make beautiful art, all while taking over my dad’s business. He wanted a legacy, and I wanted to give it to him. But his illness wasn’t part of the plan. Neither was his sudden need to keep me locked up in our mansion, safe and isolated. I want more from life, but could only spend my days waiting. Until one night, I came face-to-face with a street biker from a world far different from mine. What starts as him stalking me, quickly spirals into something deeper, and more deadly. I’m falling for a man who’s everything I should fear, yet he’s the only one who’s ever made me feel truly alive. But loving him means risking everything—my heart, my future, and my father.

Rook Emberson

Revenge has been my driving force for as long as I can remember. Cameron Fletcher stole everything from me, and I’ve spent years plotting the perfect way to take it all back. When fate puts his daughter in my sights, I know I’ve found the key to his destruction. But from the moment I meet her, my plans begin to unravel. Regan is everything I didn’t expect and I can’t help but be drawn to her. What starts as a twisted game of vengeance turns into an obsession. I need her, but I also need to destroy her father.

The lines between love and vengeance blur, and I’m not sure where one ends and the other begins.

good story

really wasn't a fan of the female narrator, for me it made it kind of a hard listen.

Dark Rom-com genre slaps right now.

The male narrator was brilliant in the pov of the mmc, although I'm not sure if that's just cos he's got one of those Quinn tingly voices iykyk.
I've seen some comments about the female narrator being a bit 1D, but I actually though she did a great job, putting lots of tone in and picking up on the comedy bits.

The story for the first 50% is the best I've listened to in a while, and would put it 'up there' with current booktok darling 'lights out', I'm living for the amazing bants, but like so many other books that start off with this great tension the back end always seems to be a bit of a let down. Not so much in this case with the plot, which was really great BTW, but the whole overused 'mine' trope. Like...I get it, when we heard the witcher say it, it was literally all we could think about, but some writers really REALLY overdo it.
There were other bits in the back end that gave me icks, the unrealistic naivety- and her swinging between bad-b, and ikkle princess- of the fmc being one big one,
and at times I have to agree with other reviews, that the FMC is just an unlikeable spoilt brat.

Overall it was a good, fun time with some good spice (extra points for NOT using the word womb out of context, and for not making the MFC pregnant- HATE that), lots of actual laugh out loud moments and I will totally recommend 😀

The average Mafia romance?

I feel like everyone has heard/read this story before but it’s not horrible. The male’s reader voice ate.

Surprisingly good

I really liked this story but the female narrator was a bit jarring - it sounded to staccato, literally like she was reading whereas the male narrator sounded more natural. Would have been better as a duet rather than dual imo

Ridiculous

This storyline is ridiculous and the characters are idiots. The premise was good but the execution was awful. Both main characters were boring and the way they were immediately 'into' eachother for absolutely no reason and she started touching him up seconds after first getting in his bike after the first meeting? Bizzare. No thanks.
