About this listen
In exchange for a vial of dragon's blood to save her brother's life, Melanie Hall offers herself up as a sacrifice to one of the British dragon-shifter clans. Being a sacrifice means signing a contract to live with the dragon-shifters for six months to try to conceive a child. Her assigned dragonman, however, is anything but easy. He's tall, broody, and alpha to the core. There's only one problem - he hates humans.
Due to human dragon hunters killing his mother, Tristan MacLeod despises humans. Unfortunately, his clan is in desperate need of offspring to repopulate their numbers and it's his turn to service a human female. Despite his plans to have sex with her and walk away, his inner dragon has other ideas. The curvy human female tempts his inner beast like no other.

I really did love this story, from start to finish. And for my first dragon shifter book its set me off on a great start. Plus its good thing there are plenty more in this series... Currently beaming!
And just to add the side characters where also great just topped it off for me. Definitely recommend.

Worth a listen.
The narrator's dragon voice made me laugh out loud. A cross between a gravelly monster and a whiney 3 year old kid. Marvellous! Although the heroines accent sounded less American and more West country sometimes, the Northern English was spot on. Speaking as someone from the Manchester area, it was a delight. I will definitely be listening to more of this series.

good story, very well read.
I was unsure about this book to start with as I'm not usually a fan of books about dragons. However I am glad I chose this one.
The story is good with a fast enough pace to keep interest but not so fast that details are lost. The narrator is good at swapping voices for the different characters with a range of accents and tones so it is easy to know who is talking if you have paused the audio and forgotten where you are like I often do.

dragon
Brilliant narration from Matthew Lloyd Davies, the right amount of sexy, gruff and angst.
I loved everything about this book, but I adored Tristian dragon, he was full of mischief, humour, damning, caring and so naughty.
Melanie Hall find herself offering herself to be a sacrifice to dragon, to become pregnant . So she can get a vial of dragon blood to cure her dying brother. Tristian is the dragon shifter who acquires her, isn't happy about it. He's fulfilling his duty to his clan by reproducing, but he hates humans. They killed his mother.
Tristian is handsome and sexy, abrupt and very stubborn. Melanie find herself falling for this stubborn dragonman. Tristian's dragon has fallen hard for her, making him question everting he believes about humans When Tristan get attacked t dying it is Melanie who controls both man and dragon.
The right amount of angst, humour and steam.

Sexy, stubborn Dragon Male
Be a sacrifice which means giving up her body to try and birth a dragon baby for a vial of blood which will cure her brother. Tristan was a human hating Dragon as well as being devilishly handsome and sexy he was abrupt and very stubborn. The best thing was that Melanie was even more stubborn than him. Tristan get attacked when trying to help save a teenager from his clan. He is almost dying when Melanie warns him he better let the doctors work on helping him. Can Tristan overcome his hatred of all Humans or will he push Melanie away for good. This is an awesome book and fantastic as the first copy in the Stonefire Dragons series. I have the whole series and I think I’ll have to buy the audible version for each book in the series. They are so worth it though. I’d give this book 10* stars if it was available.

Sacrificed to the dragon
Well rounded characterisation, reasonable pacing of events, and a believable storyline. Plus a very good performance from Matthew Lloyd Davies. I can recommend this book...I’m now off to download the next in the series.

Good story but a little predictable
It had a predictable plot but was an enjoyable story. The voice used by the narrator for the Dragon sounded a little creepy but I liked how the characters had realistic traits. I would recommend this book. Good author too.
