About this listen
Steamy summer nights with a hot older man aren’t the smooth sailing Seb expects.
A mysterious older guy
Seb Williams has one plan for the hot, sultry nights of his summer vacation - to get laid. What isn’t on the agenda? Running his uncle’s fishing business. Seb has no choice but to help his family. So it’s goodbye, Ogunquit’s gay bars and hook-ups.
And it’s hello, Cape Porpoise, a quaint, quiet fishing harbor. A small town that promises to be boring AF until he meets Marcus Gilbert. His summer prospects start to look promising. Silver fox - hell yeah. Hot bod? Check. Slow, sultry gaze? Oh yes!
Only one problem. Marcus Gilbert plays hard to get.
A hot distraction
Cape Porpoise is exactly how Marcus remembers it from long-past childhood, and just what he needs. A sabbatical to get his life back on track and work on his book. Peaceful surroundings. The calm of the ocean.
Perfect - until Marcus’ boat is well and truly rocked by a hot, younger guy.
Marcus can’t ignore the lure of Seb’s lean frame and gorgeous eyes. One night can’t hurt, right?
Except one night leads to another, and another.
It’s just a summer fling - until it isn’t, and the pair are suddenly in uncharted waters.
Because now, Marcus’ past threatens to tear apart their future.

The best in the series so far!
I am a huge fan of the author and of John Solo so any book written by Ms Wells and read by Mr Solo is a must read (and heard) for me. Beautifully written this book is about accepting and forgiving the errors of the past of others and specially of ourselves to find love and happiness. Full of emotional dialogues, beautiful sweet moments and a little bit of angsty situations to help our hearts to settle before a perfect final, in my opinion this book is the best in the series so far, and the most intense and emotional in the best way possible. Of course, for a book so good, having a great narrator like Mr Solo is just the cherry on top. Mr Solo have a wonderful talent and made a display of it in a magnificent performance. I can't wait to read and heard the next book that now have a huge challenge to beat. Wonderful!

A Beautiful Performance by Solo
The Manie Men series is narrated by John Solo, and you can read any of the novels in this series as a standalone. There's a large cast of characters in this story, and Mr. Solo provides a unique voice for each of them. I always get a kick out of his female characters, and he totally nails Marcus' mom and sister! John Solo does a fantastic job with the more emotional scenes in Seb's Summer, and this is a beautiful performance.
K.C. Wells is taking us through a whole range of storylines in her Maine Men series. While some of the novels are a little lighter than others, so far they’ve all been wonderfully entertaining, filled with humor, friendship, and romance. Each novel has a life lesson, or some kernel of wisdom embedded in the story, and so it is with Seb’s Summer.
I don’t want to give anything away, because the way Ms. Wells reveals Marcus’ story is artfully done. (I wouldn’t want to rob anyone of the experience of discovering what led Marcus to reach the point in his life where he needed to escape to Maine.) This man’s journey is emotional and powerful, and extremely relevant in today’s world.
Seb has his own journey to make, and up till now we’ve known him as a fun loving guy who’s a bit of a party-animal. He’s watched some of his buddies find their happily-ever-afters, and made no secret that he’d like to find his own! It’s absolutely charming the way he sets his sights on Marcus, and then proceeds to reel him in (that’s a pun based on Seb’s summer job lol).
With important messages about relevant issues, and her characteristic humor and wit, K.C. Wells’ Seb’s Summer is not to be missed.

Wonderful series and a great book
We meet Seb, a school teacher, on summer holidays with plans to hang out with his friends and have some summer fun, getting laid. But, unfortunately, his mother and family have other ideas.
Marcus has escaped from the city, his job and his life in general, heading to his families summer home. What he doesn't need is any distraction from a hot fisherman.
I love these two characters and the summer fling. The way the author has set up the characters and Cape Porpoise helps you visualise the story's surroundings. The back story for Marcus is so well described, and you get all the heart feels for this character, so well written.
Even though this book is part of the Maine Men series, each book, in my opinion, can be read alone.
A well-written book about men, love and second chances in life: Great Narration from John Solo again. I speed up the narration to 1.50. but this is usual for me, and I find most people read too slow for me.

Another great book in this series; I loved it!
I loved this book when I read it back in August and I knew that the only thing that could make me love it more would be to hear John Solo perform the audiobook. 😊 John really is one of my favorite audiobook performers and did a fantastic job, once again, with Seb’s Summer.
Seb really did not want to spend his summer working as a lobsterman in the tiny town of Cape Porpoise while his uncle recuperated from an injury. He figured there would be nothing to keep him interested and that his summer would be filled with boring and back-breaking work. Boy was he wrong.
Marcus Gilbert is in Cape Porpoise to get away from his hectic life in New York City. There are hints along the way in the story but it is pretty far into it before we find out what is really going on. There is no trigger warning for the story because it would be a big spoiler.
Both Marcus and Seb have been players with no serious thoughts of having a real relationship but that changes so much over the course of the summer. Yes, they have a lot of hot and sexy time together but they also spend time just being together and enjoying each other’s company.
K.C. Wells really knows how to write a hot story but this was about so much more than what Seb and Marcus get up to between the sheets. It’s about Marcus’s large and welcoming family and also about the secret he’s keeping. We also get to visit with Seb’s found family of friends and their significant others.
I’ve loved all of the books in this series and I’m really looking forward to reading the next one.
A copy of this audiobook was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

3rd in the Maine Men series
4 stars
This is the 3rd in the 'Maine Men' series, you could easily read it as a standalone and still enjoy it I think. I have read both previous books, Finn's Fantasy and Ben's Boss and I wanted Seb's story since I met him first in Finn's book. I knew there was more to him than he seemed at first.
There will be no spoilers here, Marcus' secret is safe with me until you read it yourself. This book also has a lot more heat than the previous two, that's of course not a bad thing or any kind of criticism. Heat is good, I like heat.
I liked both guys, Seb I'd been introduced to before and knew I wanted to know more about him and I could just feel his frustration at being coerced into helping his uncle - I later realised it was more about his uncle than his mum, because wow. I also really wanted to find out Marcus' story, the author did a great job keeping us in suspense before revealing why he'd ended up in Cape Porpoise after leaving New York.
The two of them together were great, instant chemistry yet not insta-love (which I hate), they had a little time to develop their relationship and really build something which neither had managed to have before. Marcus' family is great fun too, and I liked meeting them all. I'm glad we will get Marcus' nephew Jake's story because I really need to know, dammit.
I liked this better than Ben's Boss, but my favourite is still Finn's Fantasy. Seb is very close second though and now I need to know about Levi, so much.
As for the narration, it took me a while to get into it, but I think that's more me as I've been listening to one other narrator a lot lately but once I got adjusted, I really liked the voice acting. It was easy to tell the characters apart when they were in the same chapter and he really brought Seb and Marcus to life.

Steamy & intense with sweet summer sighs
This is an intense love story that's genuinely sweet and steamy as hell. Seb, a teacher whose summer has been ruined by having to help out in a family business, meets that person who means enough that he's willing just to pursue friendship if it'll keep him around. That is until the guy's meddling sister turns up!
Although you don't have to have read the first two to enjoy this , I think they give a sense of who Seb is seen as by his friends. This book gently peels away those layers to the sweet and sensitive guy behind the persona.
The sheets (and other items of furniture) might be burning up but the way the relationship develops with each man risking his heart is what really makes it. There are moments so intense you can't put it down and by the end you'll be fighting for a happy ending for each of these lonely men.
The narrator enables you to forget he's there as you lose yourself in the voice of each character.
Well worth a listen.

I found it really hard to finish
I don't like the view on drugs described in this book. As there is such an emphasis on this opinion, it made it hard to finish the book.
