About this listen
You deserve all the kisses you want....
Benji,
I want you to know how amazing you are. You won't believe me, because I'm just your brother's best friend, but it’s true. Each day my feelings for you grow, confusing but undeniable.
With a few anonymous love tokens, I finally have an outlet for all the things I can't say. And with each gift and note, you smile. For me. Not your brother's straight friend, but something new. Something more. Something that will change everything if we can both find the courage to believe.
All I have to do is confess who I really am:
Your Secret Admirer.

I'm a not so secret admirer of DJ Jamison
This is Secret Admirer by D J Jamison.
I have read a lot of her books and really enjoy them. But this is only my second audio book by her.
The story is set around Benji and Ace. Ace is the crush Benji has always dreamed about but never thought he could have because he is his older brother Jeremy's best friend.
Benji has always thought Ace was straight but Ace has an epiphany and realises he likes Benji. So he sets about making Benji realise he is special. Ensues is a race to work out who is sending Benji little gifts.
I loved Ace, he really tries hard to make Benji feels special. I didn't like Jeremy at first because I thought he was a bit stuck up. but came around to him.
This is narrated by Darcy Stark, a new to me narrator. It was very pleasant listening to this reading of the book and I have no issues in listening to him again.

Not-So-Secret Admirer
Secret Admirer is a standalone, contemporary, college romance novel with the themes of a bi-awakening, friends-to-lovers, and forbidden (kinda) love. I really enjoyed the book and found it to be sweet and extremely cute.
Benji is a young college student who’s trying to figure out dating, but on his first real date, he gets stood up. His brother’s best friend, Ace, can’t stand to see Benji upset, so he creates a “secret admirer” to help boost Benji’s self-esteem. What Ace doesn’t plan on is falling in love with Benji himself.
This was such an adorable romance story with two guys who bumbled around trying to figure out love and dating. There was low angst and the drama was all neatly wrapped up. There was hot sex scenes, silly moments, and just a lot of fun and excitement wrapped up in a fluffy book.
Darcy Starks narrated the audiobook and does a spectacular job. I really enjoyed his smooth voice and easy narration. It was really easy to follow along with the story and I thought his performance brought the book to life. I definitely recommend the audiobook.

Super cute
Very cute brother’s best friend romance. I enjoyed the secret admirer aspect, so sweet and Benji was adorable trying to work out who it was.
A light hearted low angst story that will leave a smile on your face.
Great narration by Darcy Stark

The audio made me love this story even more!
I read Secret Admirer when it was released in late June 2020, so not that long ago. Typically, when I listen to an audiobook of a story that I've read recently, I can enjoy listening to it but not have to concentrate on the story so much because I already know it. I thought that's how this would be for me so I didn't hesitate to start listening to it when I had some things I needed to do around the house. Big mistake!
I couldn't put this one down and I couldn't seem to do anything else while I was listening to it. When I reviewed the ebook I made a note that the story was spicy, which means not a huge amount of sexy time. Let me tell you, listening to Darcy Stark perform this story was a whole different experience. No, it's not overly graphic but Darcy's voice greatly enhanced my reaction to this story. 😊
Below is what I had to say about the book when I read it back in June.
DJ Jamison really knows how to write great New Adult stories. I pretty much loved everything about this book. Benji has had a crush on his brother’s best friend, Ace, for years but knew that nothing could ever come of it because Ace is straight.
The story is told in first person POV with a few more chapters by Benji than Ace. I love the blurb for the book so much, but in case it’s not readily understood, Ace didn’t really send that letter because he was too afraid to let Benji know how he feels.
Ace gets close to Benji after Benji’s brother takes an internship in Chicago leaving Benji away at college and on his own. Ace steps in to keep an eye on Benji but it soon turns into more. Ace has had thoughts about guys before but has never acted on them. How his body is reacting to Benji has him questioning his sexuality even more.
After being stood up for a date Benji seems so forlorn that Ace wants to do something to make him happy. He comes up with the idea of sending little things to him as his Secret Admirer. When it looks like Benji might be interested in one of Ace’s frat brothers, Ace realizes he needs to step up and do something or risk losing his chance to have a relationship with Benji.
The story has lots of feels in it and I couldn’t put it down. Benji’s brother has to adjust his thinking regarding Ace’s relationship with Benji but their mother and father are accepting right of the bat. Ace’s family sucks – always wanting money from him, but his step father actually says some nice things to him near the end of the story.
I nearly forgot to mention the amazing epilogue that DJ wrote for Ace and Benji. We get to see what they’re up to a couple of years in the future and there might even be a surprise!
A complimentary copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author and/or narrator.

So cute!
This was absolutely one of the cutest, sweetest, fluffiest books I ever read! and it was absolutely what I needed right now.
Low-to-zero angst, best friend's younger, gay, virgin brother and a frat boy embracing his bisexuality and acting all cute and insecure while crushing on his BF's baby bro.
It's a light-hearted, happy story that left me with a sappy smile on my face!

A great listen
I love this story between Ace and Benji. I found their dynamic to be angsty but also fun. The plot was an adorably typical “fall in love with the best friend’s siblings” but enjoyable nonetheless. Stark’s narration keeps you actively listening and absorbed in the story. A very enjoyable book!

So stinking cute.
This is a gorgeous brother's best friend story, that is so stinking cute with secret notes that get starts a miscommunication, that comes good in the end. I really enjoyed listening to this book, the characters were fully formed flaws and all. It's most definitely going on my re-read pile as I’ve brought the book too.

Really enjoyed
I really enjoyed listening to this book especially as it’s sweet with the fact that Benji has always fancied Ace. Also Ace is coming to realise that he his bisexual and fancies Benji.
