About this listen
Secrets always come out in the end.
When you’re having a fling with your brother’s best friend...
Houston is a hot, snarky omega who will do anything for those he loves. He’s only done one sneaky thing in his life, and that was going to come out as soon as his secret boyfriend, Cody, got home from his latest tour of duty. Once they announced their relationship to his family, especially his brother who was a former squadmate and good buddy of Cody’s, things would be fabulous. What could possibly go wrong?
...but then the alpha soldier goes MIA after a chopper crash while on mission.
Cody was held captive by insurgents after his helicopter went down. When he finally gets home a year later, he’s battling a severe case of PTSD along with partial amnesia. He has no memory of being involved with his buddy’s sexy little brother with the cute-as-a-bug baby.
Two men who started with the best intentions until life pulled them apart.
How can Houston tell anyone, let alone Cody, that he’s the father of his baby when the anxious soldier doesn’t seem to remember having so much as dated him? Heck, Cody still thinks of him as the teen kid who came to see his brother graduate from basic training.
Skip ahead a few years, and Cody is enthralled by Baxley, Houston’s sweet three-and-a-half-year-old son. He’s kicking himself for not having asked the guy out when he had a chance. What would he have to offer him now?
A simple lab test for a desperately ill child is all it takes for secrets to emerge and Cody’s world to tilt on its axis. Cody and Houston have decisions to make. It will take faith, hope, the support of family, and maybe even a lifesaving gift to make things work out.
This m/m audiobook contains Mpreg and intended for 18-plus listeners. Trigger warning: This audiobook contains scenes of a sick child and an adult living with PTSD. Grab your Kleenex because this novel has triple the feels you’re used to from Susi Hawke and definitely includes an HEA and all the laughs, naughty, knotty times, and family fun you’d expect!

Houston is my favorite
Let just say I love this series but Houston is my favorite brother he an Omega with his own strong will. His snazzy comments make me laught When he thinks he alone carring his baby he still stands strong, he knows in his heart that his Mate has not died much to his brothers dismay, it funny and also alittle heartbreaking, But as always with this Author we get the fun side of life. This one that I will listen to many times, Joho Solo was amazing with each character and story actually he was outstanding.

Who's the daddy?
So, this book picks up from some devastating news received by Beau and the rest of the family in book two of the Lonestar Brothers series by Susi Hawke, so it's helpful to read/listen to the books in order.
In this book, we get a better sense of Houston's reaction to the news that Beau's friends were in a helicopter crash, and Daniel is dead, while Cody is listed as missing in action (MIA). Houston's private devastation that his secret lover Cody is gone without a trace carries him through the pregnancy, as he treasures this tiny reminder of his love.
The plan had been to tell Houston's brothers when Cody came home from his current tour of duty, but fate intervenes in the form of the terrible crash, blowing all of Houston's hopes for the future to smithereens, so he just keeps up a calm façade and carries on, giving birth to their baby boy, Baxley.
The baby is six months old when the family receives the news that Cody has been found and Beau brings him into his home to recuperate and receive treatment. Houston hurries over with the baby to introduce Cody to his son, only to discover that Cody barely remembers him, and has forgotten all about their time together. On top of that, Baxley, who is teething, starts crying and triggers Cody's PTSD. Lucas takes Houston aside as he is the only one who knows the secret and comforts the distraught omega and the crying infant.
Fast forward a few years, but the secret is still concealed from almost everyone. It takes a trip down under and a medical emergency for the truth to come to light for the rest of the family.
It's quite a journey as Cody strives to reconnect to his lost love and get too know his son, and a must for all fans of Susi Hawke's books. John Solo does an excellent job of bringing the guys to life, giving them all a unique voice.

So good
I love this whole series and hearing Houston’s inner monologue brought expertly to life snarky, southern charm and all, by the wonderful John Solo. The smexy scenes in that voice are as ever swoon worthy. Read the book and listen to the story you can’t lose

An excellent narration for a really good story!
I really like the series, but the audio makes the series exceptional 😍
This is Houston's story. Although there is a bit more drama - dealing with the aftermath of being a prisoner of war, PTSD, amnesia and an extremely sick child - Houston is still as sassy as ever! Cody and Baxley round out Houston's new family and they fit in with the rest of the extended family.
John Solo has owned this series from the beginning 😊 His accents and character voices have been consistent from book 1. I can always tell when Gid or Lucas or any of the characters are speaking, and most importantly, Houston. I loved his drawl! The transitions between characters and between non dialogue parts are seamless. This is really the best way to experience this series, in my opinion. Loved it!
I received a copy of the audio, but the opinions expressed are my own and without bias.
