Summary

Did you know that developing self-regulation and emotional well-being skills help your child by 12 percent to have high academic success and decreases by 42 percent their physical aggression by their peers?

Self-regulation in kids is a proactive, self-directed process for attaining goals, learning skills, coping with big feelings, and managing emotional reactions, which fuels children to become socially and emotionally engaged lifelong learners. After listening to this book, you will have a clear answer to these questions:

  • How can you promote and support self-regulation in your child's development?
  • How can you help your child to build self-discipline?
  • What strategy can you use to relax and calm your child while angry?
  • How do you manage your child's negative feedback?
  • What changes in approach or strategy should you make to develop self-regulation and control in your child?

To promote self-regulation in a child, you don't need to avoid difficult situations for kids to handle.

When children struggle with self-regulation, it often leads to behavior that makes them feel even worse and creates very stressful situations for other family members. By developing self-regulation and control, you will learn:

  • How to identify and explore their big emotions, unhelpful thoughts, and feelings.
  • How to handle children's thoughts, anger, excitement, anxiety, and sadness.
  • How to use self-regulation strategies in any naturally occurring situations and learn to calm the child's body.
  • How to make a choice and a plan.
  • How to identify and be prepared for a condition that may be tricky for them to navigate.

This book is an easy-to-understand guide for parents, filled with engaging scenarios, plans, and methods that show kids how to be mindful to work through challenging emotions and feel happier. Therefore, if you need a variety of "essentials" to help your kids learn about their thoughts, feelings, behavior, and actions, then this book is for you and every caregiver. Enjoy the listen.

Social Emotional Learning

I have been teaching as a high school math teacher for nearly 20 years. The recovery from learning loss was one of many problems for students returning to in-person instruction after the COVID-19 school closure. A lot of my students suffered traumatic events during the school shutdown. Teachers were introduced to social-emotional learning to prepare for the challenges. The concept of self-regulation and emotional well-being will help a child recover their mindset to regain the loss of learning. If students cannot manage themselves emotionally, learning will not occur. After listening to this audiobook, you will know what strategy you can use to relax your child and help you to develop self-regulation and control in your child to provide them the opportunity to be successful in school today and in the future.

I love the tips for parenting

If you are a parent, you know how hard it is to bring up children, especially when they get to teenage. It's harder still because you have to manage your emotions and theirs as well. I enjoyed that this book talked a lot about self-regulation as the basis for helping your kids learn the same. I feel like I have more tools in my arsenal to make my home emotionally safer for my kids and to teach them to deal with their big emotions. This book is highly recommended.

This book delivers as promised

Little people, big feelings. They don’t understand their feelings and certainly can’t name them, so it’s up to the adults to interpret and understand what’s happening. When my kids were little, they would “say” they were hungry by pounding on each other. Besides feeding them, this book offers the fundamentals for teaching your children to understand their emotions and develop skills to calm themselves. Several activities and techniques are included. We all need to learn to get a grip in our chaotic world.

This book must be in your library!

I'm so glad I got across this book! It's exactly what I needed as a mother for 11 years old girl. It's been hard lately to communicate and guide my little in a transformative phase in her life. She can't relate herself to kids anymore, nor to adults! And she became difficult to deal with. However, this book helped me understand what she's going through and, even more, gave me valuable solutions on how to deal with her emotions and empower her with them.

I didn't know anything about self-regulation in a child before listening to this audiobook. But the authors gave me the keys to guide my girl and equip her with powerful skills such as self-control, self-awareness, emotional management, responsible decision-making, and relationship skills.

If you're a parent or have close contact with children, this book is a must-listen-to.

Much Needed for Your Kids

This audiobook was a great introduction to simple ways in which to manage the emotions of one's child. The author does a great job at helping you understand the reasons behind the volatility of emotions that your child may face and how to help them get through the emotions instead of simply ignoring them outright.

Self-regulation is a crucial part of emotional intelligence and is an important skill for a child to have well into adulthood. Although it allows for freedom of the child, it ultimately falls back on the parent's responsibility to parent their children properly. The strategies and tips within this audiobook will help parents raise happy and well-balanced kids. There are even 17 parenting tips at the end to aid the parents in remaining calm while striving to encourage and build up their child to lead a life filled with acceptable behavior.

The production quality of the narration was on point and the narrator did a great job of relaying the information. I recommend this audiobook to anyone wanting to learn how to better train their child in the way they should go.

Valuable for all parents

There is so much valuable information in this book i dont know where to start. This is a must listen for all parents and even a good prep guide for parents to be, it gives them an insight on what to expect and how to handle certain situations. Great detail in how to properly discipline your child and how to teach them to control their tantrums before lashing out. Ive used a lot of these practises in the book and i have seen a massive difference in both my child and my own daily life

An encouraging but ok for all

This is a book for all. At times we forget to recognize the fact that the society and life has habits that exist in the community.Every child has to be aware of their act and how it will ease their responsibilities . I recommend the book for anyone who have kids or who work with children. The author did an amazing job.
