About this listen
Nothing stays black and white in a world full of shadows....
I’m Alana Mitchell, and for my 20th birthday, I got a brand-new magical destiny instead of the laptop I was saving for. I’m a witch. I have powers I can’t control, enemies I know nothing about, and a legacy I can’t begin to grasp.
There’s a shadow world out there, waiting to swallow me whole...a world I didn’t even know existed until I used my magic and unleashed hell upon my naïve self. From heart-eating ghouls to glamors, potions, and spells, nothing is as it seems.
A renegade demon and his brother are teaching me the ropes and driving me crazy with their "I-know-better" attitudes, beckoning stares, and stupidly handsome faces.
At this rate, I’ll flunk Witchcraft 101. I want to hunt down the bastards that destroyed my future, but the brothers’ past is threatening to steal my soul and tear me apart - literally.
To survive, I must embrace the darkness simmering inside me and unleash the devil within, no matter the consequences.

Loved it!
Thank you to the author for allowing me a free copy of the audiobook. I am so exited for the next one! This book is a paranormal romance that follows the story of our main character Alana and her discovery of her true powers. It does have adult scenes within and some gory parts but for me this was no issue.
When a frightful event activates her powers she is no longer safe in the comforts of her human life. She is now a target for demons who are thirsty for her blood. This is when we are introduced to Liam, a demon who could be the cause of her death if he can not control his thirst for her blood. Along with Liam, his sweet brother Thom (Alana's crush.) We follow the trio and their friend Lilah and their journey to protect Alana from the dark forces at work.
The book was truly unputdownable (if that is even considered to be a word) and the audiobook is just as good. the voice actress did the book justice well done!
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the Vampire Diaries.

My new 'go-to' audiobook !
This is a five star experience...
The story, expressive description and the dynamics of our 4 main characters made me curious and kept me engaged throughout. There was action, tension, angst, attraction - and what made this so special was the way the story was weaving it all together. Gently building it up over the course of the story.
The narrator's approach is wonderful. A relaxing, dynamic voice. Believable. I do hope book 2 will continue with Kelsey. Its my new go-to audiobook for taking time out to enjoy a quiet moment with a great audiobook. I will definitely purchase number 2.

Great Listen!
This was a slow start but got better as the story went on. Alana was immature and annoying at times, but did not take away from the story. Would like to continue with this series after the cliffhanger ending Anya J. Cosgrove left us with. The Kelsey Navarro did a wonderful job at bring the story a live.

Shadow walker
The is a slow burn romance which I love. I liked the secondary characters not so much the main character. I found her to be really annoying.
The story ends on a cliffhanger
I would read the next book.

Slow burn is right! But plot twists worth the wait.
Slow at the start with all those months holed up, but then it moves quickly with lots of twists and turns in the plot.
Female lead quite immature, ( she is 20) lots of opportunities to shed light on her dreams but never speaks of it, frustrating!
Enjoyable and I do recommend, you just have to be patient. Come on Liam and Alana! or Alana and both the brothers!

Just wow!
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
I need me some more Alana and Liam and am hoping they end up together in future books.
I loved this book from the start and it’s one of the few I would listen too again.
Kelsey Navarro is the perfect narrator and hope she narrates further books in this series .

Engaging debut in a promising series
To survive, I must embrace the darkness simmering inside me and unleash the devil within, no matter the consequences…
Just as she comes into her powers on her 20th birthday, Alana is kidnapped by demons known as Shadow Walkers and is rescued by Thom and his half demon brother Liam. They take her to a safe house where she learns that not only is she a witch but that she can’t go home until she has learned to deactivate the beacon that witches give off allowing demons to track them. Not wanting to put her family in danger, she reluctantly agrees.
As Alana tries to access her new powers and control them before the Shadow Walkers track her down, she begins to feel an overwhelming attraction for both brothers that threatens to drive a wedge between them. As details of their pasts emerge, however, certain truths about Alana’s capabilities come to light..
Shadow Walker is the first instalment of the Bloody Hearts series. I was impressed by the authors world building and her unique take on witches and demons. Unfortunately I found myself struggling to like the female protagonist who often came across as petulant, a trait which seemed more pronounced due to the Kelsey Navarro’s narration. Liam on the other hand was an interesting character who I couldn’t help sympathising with. His struggle to control his demon side as well as his feelings for Alana made for compelling reading. It helped that the author included his point of view as well as Alana’s. While Thom is your typical down to earth, amiable guy, Liam is the complete opposite. Brooding, conflicted with just a hint of danger about him. What’s not to like? 😉;)
All in all this was a well paced, engaging introduction in what looks to be an entertaining series. Recommended for fans of paranormal romance, witches, demons, shifters and love triangles.
I received an advanced free audible copy of Shadow Walker which was narrated by Kelsey Navarro. While I was impressed by the way her tone changed for the male characters, her narration for the main female character did grate on me at times.
