Summary
The first in an exciting series of YA thrillers from the master of the hook-and-twist.
When tragic events tear him away from his parents, 15-year-old Mickey Bolitar is sent to live with his estranged uncle, Myron. For a while, it seems his train wreck of a life is finally improving - until his girlfriend, Ashley, goes missing without a trace.
Unwilling to let another person he cares about walk out of his life, Mickey follows Ashley's trail into a seedy underworld, revealing a conspiracy so shocking it will leave him questioning everything about the life he thought he knew.

Brilliant!
I couldn’t stop listening to this. An excellent story with humour in parts. It’s well narrated. I’ve finished and immediately got the next book. I love Harlen Coben as an author. I’ve enjoyed every book of his I’ve listened to so far.

Shelter
An excellent story, well pressed, with a very open ending, leading directly to the second book in the series (“Seconds Away”).

A great story
I was not sure when I started this book if I was going to like it or not.
The answer soon came to me as I kept wanting to know what happened next having come to the end I immediately downloaded the next in the series.

Slow paced novel with a cheap setup for a sequel
I really tried hard to like this novel but after its open ending I realize this was just 6 hours of fluff. The characters were poorly written and unlikeable (Coben struggles to write teenagers let alone teen girls), the narration was ok (it saved the book), but the plot was empty, the holocaust angle felt random and the ending was rushed. Not his greatest work.
