About this listen

The debut audiobook from podcaster, musician and Ireland's foremost satirist Blindboy Boatclub.

Small Bones in a Fist is composed of stories drawn from Blindboy's first two published books: The Gospel According to Blindboy and Boulevard Wren and Other Stories.

Curated, narrated and scored by the author, Small Bones in a Fist is a surreal, provocative and darkly funny introduction to one of the most original voices in Irish literature.

The collection includes the story Did You Hear About Erskine Fogarty? which has been adapted for Irish television starring Misfists actor Robert Sheehan.

Really enjoyed it,looking forward to the 2nd Batch

Some of my favourite podcast episodes are the ones that blindboy reads out a story, great to have them all in one place. Looking forward to the 2nd batch of stories.

not a single bad story

an amazing book I was so lost when it ended. noone else could have narrated it and the moments left empty after each story were sorely needed to get your head straight before you were ready for more. I love this book

A contemporary Dubliners

Blindboy is our day’s answer to Joyce and this is his Dubliners. I hope he gives us a Ulysses someday.

Surreal and absolutely captivating

I’ve adored this collection of short stories, best thing I’ve listened to on Audible in a good while. Thanks, Blindboy.

A dark and beautiful collection of stories.

I’d been waiting a long time to hear these stories being read in the voice of Blindboy. It did not disappoint. The dark comic fictions are spooky and ethereal as well as being poignant and powerful.

The soundtrack added by Blindboy heightened the tensions in the works and it was a wonderful way of connecting the worlds.

Spellbinding.

A real class collection of stories

It is Blindboy the lad is simply brilliant one of the finest Irish writers to date. Hard to pick a favourite story as they were all so good. Such a vivid way of descriptions and some great twists.

Mesmerising voice

I really enjoy the combination of an Irish accent and the freewheeling narrative… very unique

A unique listening experience

Brilliant stuff from blindboy, exactly what you'd hope for if you're a fan of his podcast. Unusual, unpredictable dark stories with twisted humour. The mood setting background ambient music adds massively to the tone of the stories and you can't but love his storytelling voice. All audiobooks should be like this
