About this listen

Vi Harris tests every bit of my strength.

She is my own personal challenge.

She has the potential to make me weak at a time when I'm determined to show everyone just how bloody strong I am.

Yet somehow, she doesn't see me as broken.

She sees me as the man I'm fighting so hard to be.

The man that I'm still struggling to see myself.

But resisting her is proving to be even more difficult than my past.

Loved this audio, fab narration

Loved book 2 in the Lost in London series, even though it is part of a series it can be read as a standalone. Book 2 follows Hayden and Vilma and does in fact answer many questions I had about Hayden following previous books. Vilma and Hayden both have their demons and both are learning to trust each other, both have strong feelings for each other, but Hayden is struggling with his inner self even more and he may just be throwing away the best thing that has ever happened to him. I love the characters, Vi's brothers are hilarious, love their protective streak, love Theo and Leslie and their adorable daughter Marissa (Hayden's niece). Some wonderfully tender moments between Hayden and Marissa. This story told in dual POV is an emotional rollercoaster that has some very intense scenes that had me tearing up. I loved the honesty of this book and its characters and I can't wait to read more Amy Daws.
I was provided with a copy of this audiobook by the author at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review courtesy of Audiobook Blast.

Love the new title and extended version!!

I loved the new additions to Vi & Hayden’s story!! The Harris Brothers might steal the show but Vi is the heart and soul! The duet narration was perfection as always— nothing beats a Charlotte Cole giggle!

All audiobooks should be this way!

Would you consider the audio edition of That One Moment to be better than the print version?

I’m not usually one for audiobooks. There is something totally different and very special about this one! I have read all of Amy Daws’ books to date and absolutely love them. When I heard this one was to be released in audiobook format with dual narration I was excited to hear how this would work. I saw a live preview of Will Watt and Charlotte Cole recording a couple of chapters of the book. I just wanted to go on listening! This TOTALLY changed my mind about audiobooks! Will reads the male parts in the book and Charlotte takes care of the female ones. The result is wonderful. Both of them put so much into this to make it sound so natural, unhurried and managed to convey so much emotion. This brought another dimension to an already thoroughly enjoyed book. I loved hearing it again this way. And, oh my! Will’s voice just makes you melt! What a brilliant choice of narrators-they couldn’t have done it better! All audiobooks should be this way! I loved how they used different accents for different characters-these are really well done, it’s all a very polished performance. When I read the book I thought the whole series could make a great TV Mini-series-this is the next best thing! It’s not just an audiobook in the normal sense-the narrators ‘act it out’ and it really made it stand out above the rest. I didn’t used to like the idea of audiobooks; I preferred to read it myself etc. Some samples of audiobooks I’ve heard sounded like the narrators were just reading it, just whizzing along and not much meaning came across to me. With this book, it’s like you’re there with them, they make it as ‘real’ as they possibly can. This has all been very well thought out. This is really something! It's difficult to say whether the audiobook edition is better than the print edition-I enjoyed both-but now I've found that audiobooks are really convenient: you can 'read' (listen) whilst doing other tasks, you can take it around the house, do the washing up, change the bedlined or on a journey with you. You can't really do that with a paperback. When done really well, as this one is, audiobooks can be a great reading experience-I loved this, it was fantastic!

What did you like best about this story?

It's such a great series and has such potential for developing: the writer introduces new characters, relatives of present ones, their friends etc. They all have their different stories to tell and you can see more books sprouting out from this one, as in previous ones in the series. I read all the time, always have a book with me and read in-between work etc. but with Amy Daws' books, I always like to save each new one for when I have a few days off work/bank holiday weekend etc. They deserve to have my undivided attention so I can just devour them in total luxury without having to put it down in an important bit! These books are something really special, I can't wait for each new one, she never disappoints. The books are essentially love stories-but so much more too, on a whole different level. As well as the ‘will they won't they’, break up, reunite, intense emotions, suspense, the happy times-the characters also have their problems to deal with-these are sometimes unexpected things but all totally believable and it's easy to become totally lost and absorbed in their lives.

Which character – as performed by Charlotte Cole and Will M. Watt – was your favourite?

Favourite character by Charlotte Cole was Vi and my favourite by Will Watt was Hayden but they did all of the voices really well.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wondered if the author had asked a survivor what it felt like to be able to describe what Hayden had gone through so convincingly or was this just her ideas of how it would be? Whichever, it was very believable. The writing really got to me, it was so profound, so beautifully constructed. It felt so real too: chapters are presented by the different characters, from their point of view so it’s wonderful to have two narrators and I felt almost like I was reading their true stories, it was all so vivid and just so totally gripping. I had to remind myself it was fiction! Such brilliant dialogue, you just get caught up in it, it was totally engrossing. Because Amy Daws' books are so dialogue-driven, the interaction between the characters is always so compelling-so it’s great to have two people reading the parts. I love how Amy Daws’ books are such a great mix: sadness, tragedy, tension, humour, romance, some sex scenes which are all vital to the story and it's not absolutely loaded with it/not just for the sake of it. Such a great build up, she creates the stories so expertly.

Any additional comments?

.A real treat, pure escapism. Leave the housework!-oh, you don’t need to; with an audiobook you can listen to the book whilst doing the housework!

Absolutely PERFECT

Would you listen to That One Moment again? Why?

Absolutely! I literally binge listened to the whole thing in less than 24 hours! Will was the perfect voice for Hayden!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Hayden. I've been totally and utterly in love with this troubled hero since he was first introduced in to the London Lovers series.
His tempestuous relationship with his ex, his troubled past, his recovery. ...combine all of this with a killer plot line and a sexy sassy voice....perfect. Gah I just love him!

Have you listened to any of Charlotte Cole and Will M. Watt ’s other performances? How does this one compare?

I haven't, but I certainly will in the future.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

''One year ago today, as my watch struck the hour of 11:11, i dragged a blade across both of my wrists''

Any additional comments?

I can't express how madly i have fallen in love with this audiobook....well....this book ingeneral. Thank you Amy!

Really Good Listen , thanks

I was gifted this book by the author in return for an honest review..

Really enjoyed this story from Amy from the onset. Hayden and Vi were extremely complex characters and there story evolves with such passion that you cannot fail to love it.
Vi is the only girl amongst 4 brothers and dad that had sadly lost there mum very early in there life , so brother being brothers protected there sister , but as the book progresses you find out her own hangups that she tends to suppress.
Hayden on the other hand is a tortured sole who in his mind caused the death of his sister and has spent years trying to deal with .

There meeting is a slow cook of a story narrated with such feeling by Char;tote and Will in duel narration which only enhances the story ,
Totally recommend this listen my first and not my last book by Amy Daws
Thanks

Love Hayden and Vi

Any additional comments?

Well, what can I say Amy has done it she popped my audio cherry..

Just when I honestly thought that That One Moment couldn't be anymore emotionally and powerfully charged, Amy punches you straight in the heart with the audio version.

I felt like I was there with them, I felt as though I was standing next to them as friends when they are telling tales of their lives... I cried tears when Hayden gives everything in him, I laughed at the brothers that warm your hearts and I damn near feel head of heels for the duo that is Vi and Hayden.

Thank you for the story, the words and the love that you not only write but also now give a voice too.

I absolutely loved this, and I look forward to more.
