About this listen
Summer has arrived in the Cornish town of Mount Polbearne, and Polly Waterford couldn't be happier. Because Polly is in love: She's in love with the beautiful seaside town she calls home, she's in love with running the bakery on Beach Street, and she's in love with her boyfriend, Huckle. And yet there's something unsettling about the gentle summer breeze that's floating through town.
Selina, recently widowed, hopes that moving to Mount Polbearne will ease her grief, but Polly has a secret that could destroy her friend's fragile recovery. Responsibilities that Huckle thought he'd left behind are back, and Polly finds it hard to cope with his increasingly long periods of absence.
Polly sifts flour, kneads dough, and bakes bread, but nothing can calm the storm she knows is coming: Is she about to lose everything she loves?

Another great story...
Yet another great book from Jenny Colgen. I was gripped from beginning to end. A lovely story which had me smiling one minute, and crying my eyes out the next. I cannot recommend this highly enough. I hope there will be another story soon

A great escape and good read
I liked this book for a nice getaway read, you could escape and feel like you were actually there with the characters.
Some times there was much detail about a particular part of the story and on other occasion I felt the author just rushed past the scene. But all in all a great read especially on a rainy day :-)

Perfect beach read
If you could sum up Summer at the Little Beach Street Bakery in three words, what would they be?
sweet, warm, easygoing
What did you like best about this story?
This is a very easy access story, no real drama (I'm a phychological a thriller lover). The characters and engaging, and following their journey is pleasant. It was a perfect book to listen to while sunning on the breach. You could dip in and out of the book throughout the day.
