Summary
Cody Wells isn’t sure what he wants in life. He’s watched his two best friends fall in love, but he’s not sure that’s for him. He has a job he loves and friends who are always there for him. What more could he want or need? But if that’s truly the case, why can’t he get a certain someone out of his mind?
Adrian Fisher knows exactly what he wants and is determined to get it. From the moment he set eyes on the younger man at a club, he knew they were going to spend the rest of their lives together. Now, he just has to convince him of that.
When friends and family decide Cody and Adrian belong together, they join forces to make it happen. But will Cody give in and surrender to the man he can’t quit thinking about? Will Adrian finally stop messing up every time they run into each other?
Surrendering My Affection is the fourth book in the Sulfur Springs series. This is a Men of Crooked Bend spin off, but it isn’t a requirement that you listen to that series to enjoy this one. Familiar faces will be found, but this series takes you off of the ranch and into the lives of those in Sulfur Springs. While each book will focus on a different couple, you should listen to them in order.
Warning: The book contains sexually explicit material between two men and is intended for adults over 18.

Back to Sulphur Springs
I’m enjoying this series. Cody has watched his friends Tristan and Hawke meet and fall in love with older men and although he might be jealous, he’s very happy for his friends. He often feels like a fifth wheel though, always worrying his friends would prefer being with their partners. Now, Walker and Trace are understanding and want their partners to spend time with their friends.
One night while out Cody was approached by an older man. He and his buddies nicknamed the man the Bear from The Blue Diamond – the name of the club they were at. Cody rebuffed the older man but has had regrets ever since. When he encounters Adrian again, he questions the decision to keep the bear at bay. Now, there is a lot of back and forth and at times Adrian almost felt like a stalker, unrelenting in his pursuit of Cody. Cody balks a bit and the final deception almost ended the relationship before it’s even begun.
In the end, though, the men were destined to be together. Adrian is a federal marshal and his partner is convinced he and Cody are meant to be together. Cody’s buddies have also witnessed the chemistry and are willing to step in to help Adrian in his chase. Even Adrian’s sister gets involved.
Cody is only twenty to Adrian’s thirty-eight. His experience is limited, but he knows what he wants and he’s pretty sure Adrian can’t give it to him. In the end, though, he realizes there’s more to compatibility than just body parts. He’s able to give himself to Adrian and they are meant to be together.
I have to give a shout out to Michael Dean (formerly Michael Pauley) who narrates this series. I adore him and think he does a brilliant job. Coming home to Sulphur Springs is a treat and I can’t wait for the next book.

Love visiting Sulfur Springs
Story: Finally Cody got his own HEA with his bear! I loved the story when it appeared in previous books of the series and I'm glad it's finally here! While the plot lacked some of the drama previous books were rich with, it was an interesting switch - this time we get almost total focus on the couple of MCs with some family drama to spice things up. An interesting change of pace and overall, a good addition to the series for sure.

A Good May/December Listen
This is the fourth book in the Sulfur Springs series by Taylor Rylon.
In this book we see Cody coming out as bisexual to his best friends, Hawke and Tristan, who have by now, found their love, in previous books.
Cody hasn’t had much luck or experience with his relationships and is not looking for love despite seeing and rejecting a hot older man in a club not so long ago.
Adrian wants Cody. He knows he’s a lot younger than himself but he’s determined to get Cody to go out with him. However Cody can’t see how it can ever work between them. Can Adrian change his mind?
This is another great story and I am so happy that all three of the friends now have their Happy Ever After.
This series just gets better!

Sweet, low angst M/M romance
I enjoyed this sweet, low angst romance. I only gave the story 4 stars because there are some red herrings and plot threads that didn't seem to go anywhere and left me wondering why they were there. For example, I kept expecting some trouble from the deputy who disappeared, but nothing ever came from that. I'm sorry if that is a spoiler, but it gave me an air of suspense that never came to fruition. The appearance of Adrian's parents near the end also didn't lead to anything, except one scene of low-level drama that fizzled to nothing. Pull out those distractions, and you have an enjoyable May/December romance. When Adrian first approaches Cody, Cody runs and then pretends one of his friends is his boyfriend, because Adrian is a large man, and the prospect of a huge alpha man scares him away. However, Adrian is perseverant, and eventually Cody comes to realize there is more to Adrian than he originally thought.
The narration by Michael Pauley is excellent. I especially love his voicing and accent for Adrian's partner.

May-December Love Affair
So this is about Cody’s story, his chance for HEA after his best friends finally got theirs.
With all that said, Cody drove me batcrap crazy in this book. While I understand insecurities, I don’t understand his blatant rejection towards Adrian when he actually liked the guy. His age discrimination sounded cruel at times. I know he didn’t mean it as such, and it was his insecurities showing, but Cody really got in his own way. It drove me nuts. 🤦🏻♀️ Thankfully, he pulled his head out of his own you-know-what and finally got his ish together.
I adore Adrian, he’s a teddy bear and I admire his tenacity. What a brave soul, he kept pursuing even after all the rejection. 💖 He deserved to be happy.
When they finally got together, it was wonderful. Sweet and I was yelling at Cody “seeee!! This is what you’d have missed if you didn’t get your crap together. Now, be happy!” 😂
Apart from the unnecessary angst that Cody put upon himself and Adrain, it’s a wonderful listen. Michael Pauley is always on point with his skills.
Give this book a chance, if Cody drives you up the wall too, keep listening. I promise you, it’s worth it.

The Firefighter and the Marshal
I love this Sulfur Springs series by Taylor Rylan and Michael Dean (Michael Pauley) is a favourite narrator of mine, so I very much enjoyed listening to him bring these wonderful characters to life. I've encountered Cody in previous books in the series as his best friends managed to find their Mr. Right and now it's Cody's turn as Adrian makes his moves and the two find their way together. It's a journey that I enjoyed taking with them. Highly recommended Contemporary MM romance.

Adrian and Cody
The fourth book in this amazing series. Now that his friends have all fallen in love, Cody isn't sure what he wants. He has had some very disappointing relationships which have left him hurt. After going out on a night with his friends, he can't forget the man that chased him all night. But is it a man he wants? After his boss sets him up with a date with her brother, he can't believe he is meeting the man that keeps hunting him in his dreams. Code is careful and afraid, but Adrian shows him he is caring and loving and seems to know what he needs. Adrian has been left cheated on but he's getting to the age he wants to settle down. He can see himself do that with Cody, but will Cody ever let him in? They both embark on a journey unknown and out of their comfort zone, but soon, being only friends is not enough. Read how their friendship turns into love with the amazing narrating voice of Michael Dean.

Great listen
At last we get Cody’s story, he’s seen his friends fall in love and now he gets his chance.
Adrian sets his sights on Cody and although Cody is hesitant at first, he makes it hard for him to walk away.
They have intense chemistry that can’t be ignored and this is very clear from the awesome narration by Michael Pauley.

Really enjoyed
I really enjoyed listening to this book and following Adrian as he tries to convince Cody to date him. As Cody doesn’t like the age gap. The narrator also brought the story to life.
